If you’ve spent time and ammunition at the range, futilely attempting to zero your scope, you’re not alone. A bore sight laser can save you a lot of aggravation, whether you’re zeroing in on your new rifle or sighting in your red dot pistol. These simple tools shoot a laser beam through your gun’s bore, and you can have your sights aligned correctly in a hurry, before you’ve fired one cartridge.

Having gone around the block as a hunter and shooter myself, I’ve had my fair share of bore sight lasers, from bargain basement to high-end. This is not one of those generic equipment lists. These are all hand-picked, based on actual end-user experience—how easy is it to handle, does it truly save zero, and how much ammo does it save? Whether you are a weekend-by-week range regular or preparing to head out on a hunting excursion, this article is going to help you decide on the right bore sight laser for your needs.
1. Sightmark Triple Duty Universal Boresight

Highlight: Quick and accurate zeroing for multiple calibers with the durable and versatile Sightmark Triple Duty Universal Boresight.
Constructive Review: If you realize that the purpose of any laser bore sight is to get you close enough on the target to allow you to fine tune the sights with a minimum of rounds fired, you will be pleased with this bore sight. No bore sight in existence will put you dead on the bull’s-eye every time, with every firearm, at every range and with every ammo – it is a physical impossibility. This one is very easy to use and it doesn’t require any extra parts for different calibers.
I was worried that it might not work well with stainless steel barrels, but it works fine on my stainless Ruger 22/45. It is also the only style that will work on short barrels that the arbor type wont fit into. Of course you probably wouldn’t have a scope or adjustable sights on a barrel of 3 inches or less anyway, but you could use this if you did. The only downside is that if your muzzle is not perfectly symmetric and perpendicular to the bore axis, it will be less accurate for sighting in. If your muzzle is not perpendicular or symmetric you wont have an accurate firearm anyway. If the barrel of a pistol does not protrude from the front of the slide it will not attach correctly.
I tried it on a Ruger LCP and it wouldn’t attach securely because the muzzle of the barrel is inside the slide when in battery. I tried it on my two black powder revolvers and both seemed to have muzzles cut that angled slightly to the left. No reason to use it on the LCP or the black powder revolvers, just experimenting. It was however useful to find out that the muzzles on the revolvers could use some work to correct their geometry. The on/off switch is a bit exposed so you need to be careful not to bump it on and kill the battery. That is OK if you keep it on the bench. You need to be careful when you throw it into a range bag or drawer that it will stay off. The battery holder is not an elegant design but it works OK and is the only part that doesn’t feel like high quality. The rest of the construction is very solid. The red dot is very visible indoors at any range I tried up to 50 yards. I use it at the greatest distance I have in the basement and that is good enough to get me very close on the target at the range. Over all it is a good tool to get you on the paper before you head to the range to finish sighting in your rifles or pistols. -S. Brady
Trending Review: This product is made by a USA company under a US Patent and has a quality feel. I have seen reviews that the battery was hard to insert but I didn’t find it difficult. The green laser is easy to see and when aligning a red dot sight makes it easier to differentiate which is the red dot sight’s dot and which is the bore sight dot. When they re both red it can be tricky. It aligns itself to the barrel using a magnetic attachment with the pyramid cone centering the optic. I tested the centering by clamping the gun down on a flat fixed surface and rotating the body. The dot stayed in the same place and DID NOT describe a circle as it would have if it were not centered. I can see that if the end of the barrel were not square to the long axis it would not center properly. Fortunately, most quality gun barrels are squared off where they end.
There are some physics you need to be aware of when using to align your red dot sight. Because the red dot from the sight is a reflection back from the glass lens only inches from your eyes and the projected dot is anywhere from 10′ to 75′ depending on your selected zero distance, moving your head a little side to side or up and down can cause the dot alignment to move. Think of it like this: You hold a penny out in front of your eye such that it blocks a black circle some distance away. Then move your head from side to side. You can see around the penny to see the black circle previously blocked by the penny. You can move the penny to block the the black circle again by moving your hand with the penny. What I do is look to center the projected beam point in the center of the reticle and then adjust the red dot to overlap without moving my head up or down or side to side. Then before I go shoot real bullets I shoot a laser bullet at the target center using the optic and see if I illuminated the center of the target. If I did, I should be very very close and only require very small adjustments at the range.
Some of you are probably wondering how this unit compares to the SiteLite SL-100 bore sight. In all honesty, in my opinion, the SL-100 is a little better quality and probably a more precise unit. While I didn’t see any calibration setting for the Sight Mark, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist as I did not try and disassemble it. However, the short spring loaded plastic centering tip is not likely to offer as much precision in centering as the long tapered rod of the SL-100. In my opinion that plastic should have been metal with a longer taper. On the other hand the SL-100 is about ¾” too long for a variety of shorter barreled pistols and need to be offered in a shorter version with an extension piece for those weapons needing even longer rods. Both of these units are the best I found on the Amazon sight. -Barjohn
Reassuring Review: My Glock 17L target pistol has a JPoint red dot sight on it. I suspected Point of Aim was a couple inches off to the right at 25 yards, but resetting it with range testing trial-and-error was not worth the trouble. With this green laser boresighter, I could see instantly that it was indeed offset from Point of Impact as expected, and I dialed the JPoint right in in seconds. If you have red dot sighting mechanisms, the green laser is a big help.
I was skeptical about accuracy, thinking the unit would wobble when inserted into the muzzle, but it felt very solid, and so far accuracy looks very good. I’ll be testing this unit on my other firearms, including a small bore rifle, and I’ll amend this review as I get more results. But so far, I’m very happy with this boresighter. It costs more than other systems, but so far, it’s been worth the difference.
If you buy one, be sure to remove the battery when it’s not in use or use a piece of tape to make sure the laser doesn’t accidentally get switched on when you store it. I wish I’d bought this first instead of the caliber-specific cartridges I bought that have since failed or gotten lost.
Finally, there are strangely no detailed instructions on putting the battery sub-system into the unit. I had to puzzle over it for a minute or two, but then it was obvious — place the copper-colored disk over the + terminal and slide the plastic sheath over it with the disk’s little copper stud sticking out through the sheath pinhole. Then insert into the battery compartment with the stud pointing toward the switch and the flat negative end of the battery compressing the spring contact. It’s not real secure, so be careful you don’t bang it around too much or the battery assembly could fall out(!). -D. Leeper
2. Sightmark Centerfire Boresight

Highlight: Fast, accurate zeroing for centerfire rifles with the Sightmark Centerfire Boresight.
Constructive Review: CONSTRUCTION: The laser body is made of sturdy brass, nicely finished, and with an excellent fit for the firearm caliber. The version I purchased is for a .308 Win caliber rifle. The laser is perfectly aligned with the barrel axis, so it won’t make fringes once it’s manually placed in the chamber. If you follow the instructions that came with the laser you’ll zero in your rifle in no time…and without spending a lot of rounds in the process. (A note to semi-auto firearm users, such as M1As: after manually inserting the sight laser into the chamber, do NOT slam the action as you would with a normal round – this will damage the laser. Instead, SLOWLY advance the action until it closes the breech. This note is in the user’s manual, too, but it won’t hurt to note it twice.)
ACCESSORIES: The laser comes with a small holster for storage, made of ballistic nylon. The holster is large enough to store the laser, its batteries and the user’s manual. {However, it is small enough to lose it, too. 😉 }. It comes with a set of two button-size batteries (LR 754).
Some things to note:
– it’s not a high-intensity laser. Therefore, you may have difficulty seeing the laser beam at 25 yards in the open on a very sunny day.
– due to its size, the laser uses two button batteries (LR 754), and those don’t last a long time. My recommendation is to keep the batteries in the provided pouch until ready to use, and to carry a spare set just in case.CONCLUSION: For what it was designed, it does an excellent job. I wish the laser intensity would be higher, or be of a different wavelength (color; e.g. green) for better visibility in bright, sunny light. I will definitely buy it again if I lose or damage it (I hope I won’t), provided the company is still there if that happens. -Methew
Trending Review: I picked one up for my AK-47 and it worked flawlessly. I inserted the batteries, slid it into the chamber and was presented with a nice red laser dot. It certainly did make it easier to zero the weapon. Very cost effective as I can use it again should I change my red dot or decide to use a scope instead. Of course, you can loan it to your less intelligent buddy who didn’t think to get one and it obviously can be used on any 7.62 gun. Sure, 7.62 rounds are currently going for around 20 cents a round, but that adds up if you have trouble zeroing in. (I watched my son fire off 50 rounds with his AR-15 without using a bore sight and he wasn’t even close to getting zeroed. It turned out to be an issue with his scope, but with a bore sight he would have figured that out a lot sooner.
I had no issues with my bore sight. It aligned perfectly. Apparently, some people get lemons that weren’t properly calibrated at the factory. I strongly suggest returning it for a replacement. It’s not going to cost you anything since you bought it on Amazon. Odds are that you’re replacement bore sight will work perfectly.
I don’t care for the fact that in order to turn the laser on you must open the bore sight, insert the batteries then tighten the cap. To turn it off you must remove the batteries. No on/off switch. For the money I guess that’s expected, but wouldn’t it be nice to slip the bore sight into your chamber and have it come on automatically when you close your bolt? This is just a minor irritant as I don’t have to use the bore sight every time I go to the range. Other than no on/off switch I’m perfectly happy with this purchase which is why I got one for my AR-15 too. -Clark
Reassuring Review: I’ve seen several negative reviews on this boresight, so I thought I would set the record straight. I’m retired military and have been shooting AR’s for almost 30 years with both iron sights and optics. A few reviews have mentioned how fragile the boresight is and how it is easily damaged. First of all, don’t load this boresight into a magazine and chamber it like you would a round of ammunition! That’s just stupid. Lock the bolt to the rear, maually place the boresight into the chamber with your fingers, then SLOWLY ride the bolt forward. I tried the boresight in 4 different AR’s and had zero issues.
I used the boresight for my new .300 Blackout AR to get my iron sights and optics close to zero at 25 yards, then I will take it to the range. The boresight is intended to get you on the paper with the first few rounds so you’re not wasting your time and ammunition zeroing.
I did try the boresight in two rifles with a known good zero and it is dead on. The optics I tested against are Trijicon and Aimpoint, so I know they hold their zero.
I’ve seen comments about BDC (Bullet Drop Compensation). Lasers are flat, bullet paths are not, they follow an arc. Once again, a boresight is intended to get you on the paper at between 25-50 yards. Then take it to the range and make your final adjustments after firing rounds. You should never use a boresight to “zero” your weapon, then put it back in the safe and call it good. Go fire it to confirm. It’s not uncommon to be 4 – 6″ off POA/POI, but you should be able to walk it in from there. The end cap of the boresight is tricky to get screwed back on, take your time and don’t cross thread it. With ammunition for .300 Blackout costing around 75 cents a round, I probably paid for this boresight with the ammo I saved at the range trying to zero. -Steve
3. ARKSight Brass Chamber Bore Sight for Rifle Scopes and Handgun

Highlight: Precision-calibrated ARKSight Brass Chamber Bore Sight ensures fast, accurate zeroing for rifle scopes and handguns with minimal ammo waste.
Constructive Review: I ordered the 9MM and 223 combo bore sites and received it according to the scheduled delivery date. I did not open the package for a couple months later due to my travel schedule.
When I opened it the .223 did not work and of course it was past the Amazon 30 day refund policy. I decided to reach out to ARKSight directly. A representative by the name of Anchic began to help me. Anchic tried to troubleshoot the problem with me and ultimately replaced the defective .223 site.
The new bore site was shipped immediately and Anchic took the time to follow up with me a couple days later to make sure I didn’t have any issues with the replacement.
Anchic – thank you again for all your help and you exceeded my expectations.
Customer for life. -Scott
Trending Review: You know sometimes things just work the way they should. Wasn’t expecting much for the price. It works the way its supposed to. Very satisfying when you bring your red/green dot into battery with the Laser bore sight. Even iron sights can be dialed in if you have adjusting screws. Or at the very least you can memorize center and adjust your sight picture. Good job gang. -P. Florio
Reassuring Review: Perfect for what i needed these for I love the packing, everything comes all neatly packed inside a metal tin that resembles breath mints tin which can be easily stored without having to keep misplacing them as I always do. But the tin keeps everything together including extra battery. Theres even another slot for another caliber if you want to store all your boresighter together. Definitely a good buy for the price I paid. -Tonny Bounmy
4. MidTen Bore Sight

Highlight: Quick and accurate zeroing tool with universal caliber compatibility and reliable red laser precision.
Constructive Review: I am very pleased with this item. I got it to help me zero a red dot on my Mossberg shotgun. The laser was thick and well constructed. It had a nice lip on it so it didn’t go down or get stuck in the barrel. When I racked it actually ejected out. I picked the longest distance in my house to use a spot on the wall as my point of aim and matched my dot to the spot on the wall. Yesterday I went to the range to see how the laser worked out expecting to have to make some adjustments but I didn’t. It was spot on 15-20 yards out. I ran out of time so I didn’t get to try 25 yards. I am very pleased. This is perfect to zero a dot especially on a 12g. Shells aren’t cheap and where I initially had my red dot was no where near zero. I would have wasted a lot of time and money with out this. -Matthew Mclaughlin
Trending Review: I am really impressed with this MidTen 12 ga Laser Bore Sighter. We mounted a scope on our Remington 870 slug gun after this last deer season and tried to sight-in the scope by simply firing slugs down range. After 2 boxes of slugs we still were a good 10 inches from center. We shifted approaches and found this bore sighter on Amazon and the price was worth a try. The construction of this bore sighter is very heavy and solid. It slid easily into the chamber just like any other shell. With the laser light beaming brightly down range we were able to adjust the scope and had it spot-on in a matter of minutes. We still need to confirm the scope alignment at the range but I’m confident it is spot-on. This was a very good purchase for basically the cost of a few boxes of shells and we have it for future use. I would definitely recommend this bore sighter. -Tom R
Reassuring Review: This is my 3rd 12 gauge bore sighter and the only one that has actually been accurate. Other brands were all several inches difference and several degrees off. This is the only one that held the same position as you rotated it in the chamber. Lined up perfect with my iron sights so I know my optic is dead on. Looks to be extremely high quality and really heavy for how small it is which tells me it’s a lot higher quality than the other cheapo brands. Will buy more products from this manufacturer. -Riley Rasmusson
5. MidTen bore Sighting Laser 223 5.56mm/9mm 30-06/25-06/270

Highlight: Precision zeroing for .223/5.56mm, 9mm, .30-06, .25-06, and .270 with fast, ammo-saving accuracy.
Constructive Review: I was skeptical at first but I have found it to be trustworthy and very accurate. If you use this to sight your optic, you will be dead on. No more spending 30 minutes and 50 rounds sighting in an optic at the range. This will get you sighted in in a minute. I am using the 9mm. I can’t speak for rifle versions that require much more precision at longer distances. But for pistols it doesn’t get better than this. Highly recommend. -James
Trending Review: I am an avid gun owner and bought this to “sight in” a green dot on my hellcat. I checked to see if the laser was centered in its housing by rolling it on a table and watching the dot on the wall, and indeed it was centered. I then installed this in my barrel, which I had zero issues with it getting stuck as some mention, and sighted my green dot to be right on top of the laser. Doesn’t get much simpler than that. I will then finish zeroing at the range this weekend. If it’s off at the range, that’s perfectly fine by me as all I wanted was to make sure I am on paper. And let’s be honest, there are very few people that are good enough at shooting handguns that they could even begin to argue that the laser is off. I am very satisfied. -Mark
Reassuring Review: I have one for each of my guns with scopes. They work great some people complaint about the laser light not being bright enough. I have never had that issue. It’s very easy to do, just load the batteries put it in your gun like you do when you have real ammo. The laser comes on as soon as you load the batteries. Then you set your gun on a gun vise if you one. Next have a target setup at about 25 yards or more It’s up to you, it is recommended to do 25 yards. Point at the target on the bulls eye with the laser then adjust your scope cross hairs so they come to a cross right on the bulls eye and the laser light. Then you just unload it from your gun and load real ammo, start shooting at your target and see if it’s correct if not go back and do the laser again. It really works and it’s so easy. I take mine with me anytime I go hunting or just target practice just in case my scope needs to be readjusted. I really recommend this and I got mine in two days. It’s a very good product. You can’t beat the price on Amazon, if you go to a hunting store you will pay double or more for the same thing. Last thing just make sure that you order the right caliber for your rifle or pistol. -ROBERT V MARTINEZ SR
6. EZshoot Bore Sight

Highlight: Fast, accurate, and easy-to-use laser boresighter for quick zeroing across multiple calibers.
Constructive Review: It works like advertised the adjustment ability with out having to go to the range to zero out you laser or red dot is key, when i wnet to the range it was zero was acurrate, the aligment was spot on and the distance and visibility and brightness to accurately zero in daylight is great! make sure to push it in the barrel so it can be snug and acurrate! -Jorge
Trending Review: This things is pretty nifty, and actually got me a lot closer to zero than I expected. Maybe a hair of adjustment was needed for a 15 yard zero, but it’s worked well on my P365 with a Romeo x compact optic. I do have to make sure it is very well seated in the chamber, and I often have to push something down the barrel to extract it (not too difficult, I use a plastic paint brush handle), but it has been otherwise pretty good for me. -Mike D.
Reassuring Review: As a firearm enthusiast, ensuring that my guns are properly sighted is essential for accuracy and safety. That’s why I recently added the EZshoot Bore Sight to my collection, and I couldn’t be more impressed with its performance.
First and foremost, this boresighter is incredibly easy to use. With its red laser technology, it provides a precise and reliable method for sighting my 9mm and 5.56mm firearms. Simply insert it into the barrel, turn it on, and adjust the sights accordingly – it’s that simple! Within minutes, I was able to achieve perfect alignment, saving me both time and ammunition at the range.
The build quality of the EZshoot Bore Sight is exceptional. It’s sturdy and well-made, with a durable construction that can withstand the rigors of regular use. Plus, the compact design makes it easy to carry in my range bag, ensuring that I always have it on hand when I need it most.
I also appreciate the inclusion of four sets of batteries with this boresighter. It’s a small but thoughtful detail that demonstrates the manufacturer’s commitment to customer satisfaction. With plenty of spare batteries included, I can rest assured knowing that my boresighter will always be ready to go when I am.
But perhaps the best part about this boresighter is its accuracy. The red laser is bright and visible, even in broad daylight, allowing for precise adjustments in any lighting conditions. Whether I’m sighting in a new rifle or fine-tuning the sights on an existing firearm, I can trust that the EZshoot Bore Sight will deliver consistent and reliable results every time. -Brandon p.

With amazing customer support backing it, this product is truly worth the investment. Highly recommended! -Hussy
Trending Review: Works and easy to use. Cheaper than that 40 dollar tactical laser device to zero in which is essentially the exact same thing just different looking. Durability is questionable. But it’s solid. And it doesn’t have any adjustments. As it shouldn’t anyway. I have not used it to and used the laser i zero in yet so. Can’t speak on accuracy but if it’s straight from the barrel I think it’ll be fairly accurate. -Jordan Wing
Reassuring Review: It works pretty well to get a decent idea of the relationship between sights and barrel. Simple to use, packaged well, and the laser seems well centered.
I used it with a Taurus 605 Defender- which came with a tritium sight on a 3” barrel. I don’t shoot pistol/revolver often, so I was kinda struggling- hasn’t been an issue with other pistols/revolvers I’ve shot in the past. Rather than waste ammo, I thought this would help bridge POA/POI and give me some confidence. My front sight is way too high – this isn’t a gun built for target accuracy, but you should hit what you’re going after! Corrected easily with this tool. -Jonathan
8. CVLIFE Bore Sight Laser

Highlight: Quick and precise zeroing tool designed for fast, ammo-saving sight alignment across multiple calibers.
Constructive Review: Love my laser bore or bore laser however it’s said. If someone thinks the battery life is bad. It’s not this product, the small batteries just don’t last long. So with that said I order a long package of them from Amazon and keep them on hand. O yeahhhhh my cat chases the dot as I’m sighting in my weapon. She loves them as well. Great quality and the price is nice. -Charles Hill
Trending Review: I purchased this to compare the results from the CVLIFE Bore sight kit that I purchased at the same time after I was having issues (so I thought) with the in-bore laser I already had but thought it was wrong. Well, it turned out that the scope just needed to be reset to zero because I had gone a full turn down on the turret but needed just a bit more. We all make mistakes and have bad days and I have no problem admitting it.
Now I have 3 laser sighting devices and of the 3 all are good but I do really like the CVLIFE bore sight kit, it goes in the end of the muzzle but is so much better than what we could buy 10 – 15 years ago, it doesn’t move one bit. And when I compared one against the other- they were exactly the same, perfect center dot.
I hope this helps someone else. -Mike
Reassuring Review: This is a great product. Just what I wanted. But shipping and packaging a problem. I received two boxes on February 5. The two boxes of wax paper in one container were usable but we used shipping tape to put them back together; the packing materials that were susposed to contain air were flat. The second container was also beat up. We returned the egg cooker because the lid would not seal. Do not send another egg cooker. Both containers of chololate powder were bent in; after finally getting one of the cans open, I transferred the contents into another container. Should I stop using the Monday shipping day because of this? -Joseph L. Bass
9. Feyachi Bore Sight

Highlight: Feyachi Bore Sight offers fast, precise laser alignment for effortless zeroing without firing a single shot.
Constructive Review: Great product! I was honestly very surprised about how little packaging there is. For some reason I thought it would come in a bigger box, but it’s the tiniest packaging with just the 3 batteries and the laser bullet. The laser is very bright and is very good quality. Very self explanatory and easy to use. I love that it comes with extra batteries. I haven’t had this long enough to speak to how good it is yet or how long the battery life is, however I bought this to zero my optics i bought for my Hellcat Pro and the laser lines up perfectly with the iron sights so I’m assuming it’s very accurate. I’ll have to do some tests on it but so far this is really cool. -Tyler
Trending Review: WOW…. Top quality unit.
I just bought a different brand and it was off center, It could not be adjusted, it had a little hole but there was no screw driver slot or hex key in there. I returned it and ordered this Feyachi Laser Bore Sight.
I ordered this one because I seen it had hex key style adjustment all the way around. I thought, if they do not have it perfectly centered at least I can fix that.
The other one I bought, I set it in a v block and turned it slowly and it made a 1-1/2″ circle on the wall 6 ft away. It was way far out of alignment, due to this it could not be used is align my red dot sight as it was never going to show me the center line of my shotgun bore. It was junk, but is was only thirteen bucks. Turns out trying to save a few bucks was not a good idea.
When this Feyachi Laser Bore Sight arrived I did exactly the same thing, put it in my v block, turned it slowly and the laser dot did not move it stayed centered just as it should. Perfect!
Other nice features: it comes in a nice case with 3 sets of batteries, and get this, the batteries have clear shrink wrap to keep them together in a unit of 3 so putting them in the Feyachi Laser Bore Sight is simple.
The other key thing about the shrink wrap is the sides do not touch the metal inside. This means you can unscrew the cap and place a plastic spacer in there and put the cap back on and it will reliably stay off, until the next time you need it and remove the plastic spacer.
It did fit in my Lynx 12 shotgun bore well and the extractor did grab it. I did not cycle it through the action though as that is not what these bore sights are intended to do. Closing the action and allowing the extractor to grab it did cause the laser dot to change point of center off to the left about 1/4 inch because this laser sight was not super tight in the chamber.
My conclusion is to not close the chamber when using this laser bore sight, though it does fall backwards and out if your not careful when handling the shotgun.
I need 9mm and .45 laser bore sights also and guess who I am going to buy from? That’s right, Feyachi
The Feyachi Laser Bore Sight has my top rating for quality and value – buy it if you need it. -Jenifer
Reassuring Review: I’ve used several of these lasers from different manufacturers, some I purchased and some we’re at the range or friend’s. It’s true that many are spotty in their accuracy, requiring you to find a “good” one from most manufacturers. Now, it is possible that I just got lucky and received one that was accurate out to 100 yards, but anecdotally from other peoples’ reviews and a couple of other guys at the range, these seem to be accurate for most people who use them correctly. This laser, unlike some others I’ve used, is very solid, with no loose or rattly aspects.
I’ve read some people saying they had trouble with the batteries but I don’t see how or why that would be the case unless they didn’t read the one instruction in the box. The one that says to remove the plastic sleeve from the batteries before installing them. I’ve also read about them getting stuck in the chamber of their weapon. Not trying to be too judgmental here but I would wager that most of those chambers were not well cleaned using solvent and gun oil because my meticulously cleaned RF-15 AR platform weapon’s chamber slid it home and ejected it with zero trouble. Treat it just like any shell. Put it in a mag, pull the charging handle and let it slide in. I just let it slam home, but you may want to slide yours in slower holding the charging handle throughout. Me, I want my equipment to work under hard conditions so I let it rip. It worked flawlessly chambered both ways. DON’T just try to slide it into the chamber through the ejection port with the bolt carrier locked back unless you want to use your cleaning rod to poke it out.
So, with all of that in mind I would most definitely recommend these bore sight lasers to anyone. I’m buying more so I have one in each of my weapon cases. IF, by any chance I find any flaws with ANY of them I WILL amend this review to reflect those issues. I take all of my weapons, loadouts and support gear very seriously so you can assume that if this review has not been changed to reflect any issues with further units or versions of these bore sight lasers that they all performed as well as the one I am reviewing here. Good hunting! -Artex Atrayu
10. Pinty Bore Sight

Highlight: Reliable, budget-friendly laser boresighter for quick and accurate zeroing on pistols and rifles.
Constructive Review: Simply put I did NOT expect this to be as good as it is.
The laser is very bright and I tried the ‘seating issue’ to see how accurate it is. *Some users have complained that it does not seat in the barrel properly and is not that accurate, after setting the site I reloaded it in the barrel multiple times, even turning it, and it was dead on every time.Brightness is surprising. I had no problem using an umbrella over the target to add enough shade to see this thing in direct sunlight, about 33 meters (100 ft).
The only drawback I can find, and that is looking for one, is that there is no on/off switch to it. I don’t see that as a problem though because leaving the batteries in it wouldn’t be that smart IMHO. -Paryanko
Trending Review: Just as expected as with the other Pinty products I have bought in the past, I was sceptical at first because it was so cheap, so I thought cheap made and inaccurate, but boy was I wrong, the Pinty Red laser is dead on accurate. battery life is okay it hasn’t died yet and I havent used the secon set of batteries yet, I sighted in 3 different 5.56 rifles with it, as well as taking my time to do so, good and bright out to25-75yrds which is where I used it, do not know if it went any further didn’t try. pretty durable I accidentally slammed the bolt of my Hawk Creek Armory CT-15 AR-15 into the back of it didn’t even scratch it, ejected and flew out like normal, shell bounced couple times on dirt and concrete, and still worked accurate. hope this helps you decide, I think it is an awesome bore laser bore sight well worth the money, as comparable to higher priced name brands. I would recommend this to anybody who wants a good accurate red laser bore sight. -Aaron Short
Reassuring Review: Stop wasting ammo to sight in your sights! I wish I had started using these a long time ago. This sight works as expected. The laser is bright and straight. I wish it came with a small pouch to keep everything in because you will have to keep up with the very small batteries. The only way to turn it off is to remove them. I’m just using the packaging it came in to store it. For the price, you can’t afford not to own this extremely handy tool. -Anthony Smith
