1. 3M Tac 500

Highlight: Crystal-clear sound with Bluetooth connectivity for smarter shooting.
Constructive Review: As someone who frequents the shooting range on a weekly basis, I can’t help but express my absolute satisfaction with these ear protection headphones. Having tried three other models in the past, I can confidently say that this one stands head and shoulders above the rest.
Comfort is paramount during my range sessions, and these headphones deliver in spades. Their ergonomic design ensures they sit snugly over my ears without causing any discomfort, even during extended wear. The large buttons for volume control are a practical and welcome feature, making adjustments on the fly a breeze.
What sets these headphones apart is their versatile functionality. I frequently use the Bluetooth capability to enjoy some music while at the range, which adds an enjoyable dimension to my shooting experience. To enhance comfort even further, I invested in the gel pads, and the difference is remarkable.
Admittedly, on scorching hot days, these headphones can make you a bit sweaty, but I consider this a minor inconvenience given the substantial benefits they offer. The most crucial factor, of course, is their ability to dampen sound. In this regard, they outperform any ear protection I’ve ever used. My hearing is precious, and these headphones do an exceptional job of safeguarding it without compromising my range experience.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly endorse these ear protection headphones for fellow shooting enthusiasts. Their comfort, user-friendly controls, Bluetooth functionality, and sound-dampening capabilities make them a standout choice. While they may get a bit sweaty on hot days, their overall performance and safety benefits more than compensate for this minor drawback. These headphones have truly elevated my range sessions to a new level of enjoyment and safety. -Harold D.
Trending Review: Worth the price, I tried my buddy’s Walkers, and I’m glad I went with these! The pass-through for hearing your environment is much more subtle and comfortable on these. Even more, the noise gate for when a shot is fired or a loud noise occurs is much more responsive on the 500s. No, was for the Bluetooth speakers in these muffs.. they leave a little to be desired, very crunchy and harsh, unless!! You have an Android phone and can tune with the EQ. Once I messed with my EQ in my phone, it made the speakers sound much better, got rid of the crunchy bass, and muffled highs. Overall, I like them a lot, pretty comfy too! -Cameron
Reassuring Review: I recently started as a Range Safety Officer at an indoor range and wanted to upgrade my ear protection, so I purchased the Peltor Sport Tactical 500s. These headphones do a great job of picking up ambient sounds while blocking out loud noises. They also have a voice tracking feature that will continue to amplify your voice if you’re talking to someone while someone else is shooting, instead of cutting out completely like some cheaper headphones. They are also able to do this while listening to music with Bluetooth, and you can use the aux in for a radio, all at the same time. The sound amplification is also much smoother and sounds more normal compared to cheaper headphones that I’ve used. The only complaint I have is that the sound amplification can be just a little too quiet for use with in-ear plugs at the same time, but this is mainly only an issue for voice, Bluetooth, or aux in is still loud enough. They are also comfortable enough to wear all day, even without the gel ear cups. I highly recommend these for all shooters. -McAllister551
2. Howard Leight by Honeywell Impact Pro Sound (R-01902)

Highlight: Ultra-high noise reduction rating with built-in directional microphones for clear ambient sound and top-tier hearing protection.
Constructive Review: Took this one to the outdoor range today, and the initial impression is very positive:
– This unit suppresses gun noise to a fairly comfortable level, while human talk and ambient noise pass through nicely, and can even be amplified if you turn up the dial. I hear others talking the other way.
– Wearing glasses didn’t compromise much of its performance, so I will hold off the gel pad upgrade for now. However, I haven’t tried indoor, where a gel pad may be a worthy upgrade.
– Wearing comfort is good so far. I had it on for a few hours and didn’t feel uncomfortable about its weight. The pressure on my ear is about right. A very secure feel, but not overdone. The biggest downside is that it doesn’t fold in. Most ear muffs I’ve seen can fold into the headband, this one can’t. It takes up more space when you carry it around. But I do prefer better protection if that’s the price to pay. The size and look don’t make it sexy either, if that’s important to you.
I don’t have experience with other brands/models to compare, and haven’t tried the indoor range yet. Will update once I learn more.
Update: I did a minor upgrade after watching YouTube. Open the earmuff, you will see some empty spaces. I put in around 20 foam earplugs on each side to fill those spaces. I am sure it will help a little, but difficult to tell how much. It is an easy and low-cost upgrade, and I recommend it. -Raf
Trending Review: I bought these for ear protection while using my M&P Shield 9mm. This is a quick impression as I have not yet been to the range. These are quality built and are highly recommended.
Please understand what these are; they are ear muffs with passive noise reduction. The electronic part is only for amplification of ambient sound up to 85 db. That is not a criticism, that is a description. It’s exactly what I expected but it can be a little confusing if you haven’t used this style of electronic ear muff before.
A couple of weeks ago I needed some ear muffs quick so I bought some electronic ear muffs from Harbor Freight for $12. Big mistake, complete waste of money, they will not protect your hearing and of course I took them back. They use cheap translucent plastic so sound goes right through them. The wiring is thin, the Harbor Freight muffs use cheap open foam, look cheap and are cheap. I told you that story so I can tell you this one.
The Howard Leight Impact Pro are the exact opposite. Excellent sound damping, thick wire, thick plastic and the seal at the ears is solid and comfortable without being too tight. Everything about this ear muff is quality.
I love music so my hearing is extremely important to me which is why I bought the ear muffs with the highest sound damping I could find. I have large Klipsch speakers RF-83 (three 8″ woofers) and RC-64 (four 6″ woofers) capable of reaching 125 db. Playing my system as loud as I dared the HL Impact Pro kept the sound to very acceptable levels even as my chest was thumping with the sound of the Klipsch speakers playing extremely loud. A 12 ga shotgun hits 165 db, a regular gun shot is 145 db, pain sets in a 125 db. Your lawn mower is about 95 db and typical speech is 55-65db. The HL Pro Impact is supposed to knock down about 32 db, and I believe it, from a subjective point of view.
After I get to the range or some outdoor shooting I’ll come back and update my evaluation. I am expecting I will not be disappointed. -Carlo
Reassuring Review: I have tried a number of electronic muffs from a variety of manufacturers over the years. All of them had a passive rating (electronics turned off) of 22 – 24 dB. Although they all promised to shut off noise above 85dB when turned on, they seemed uncomfortably loud and/or slow to react. This is the first set I have seen that actually meets expectations. Its passive noise rating is 30db, as good as my Peltor 10s and Howard Leight non-electronic. What is really pleasing, however, is that this one, in addition to working very well in passive mode, actually makes it comfortable on the range when shooting is loud, continuous, and close by. I can turn it on and conduct conversations in a normal voice, hear range commands and everything being said clearly and easily, and yet have the sounds of firing close by be attenuated to a comfortable level before it reaches my ears. I wore them for the first time two days ago for an IDPA match where I worked as a Safety Officer for the morning session and shot 6 stages with my squad in the afternoon. I am very pleased that Honeywell has produced an electronic muff that works extremely well in both passive and electronic mode. My only nit is that I wish the volume went a little higher as I have about a 40% hearing loss. I will buy more of them for the other shooters in my family. Thank you Honeywell! -D. Evans
3. Peltor Sport Tactical 100

Highlight: Smart noise suppression technology instantly blocks loud gunshots while letting you hear voices and range commands.
Constructive Review: Originally purchased a set of Howard Leight Impact Sports since Peltors comparable offering at the time were more expensive and had less of a NRR (Noise Reduction Rating).
Seeing that 3M Peltor had a new version, I decided to purchase this, the Tactical 100. All I can say is, WOW what a difference. The cost was only about $20 more compared to what I paid for the Howard’s, but was well worth it.
First off, the second I put these on my head the comfort/fit level of these is worlds apart from the Howard’s. The Howard’s I would have to readjust each time I put them on, but with the Peltor’s it was an instant perfect fit. I have had these one for 3+ hours of shooting and never had to readjust for comfort or slippage.
The way the mic cuts off is very different as well. Clapping my hands or tapping something hard on a table the sound reduced on the Peltors, while the Howard’s only cut off at danger levels. The Peltor’s also come back on much sooner. Not really “gripe” but these don’t have as sensitive of a pickup as the Howard’s but then again I believe these is some sort of erroneous/ambient noise filter involved which is nice to have but not sure.
A added bonus is that the volume control knob only controls the mic sensitivity and not the AUX input volume level, which is very nice when I’m at work and can have the mic’s set at max level to hear people around me, protect my ears, and not have to adjust my phone level when I need to adjust the mic sensitivity.
Would recommend this to anyone looking for a set of electronic muffs, may even spring for a nicer option if they offer one in the future. Adding a bluetooth adapter to this as well to remove the need for a cord as well. -Thomas S
Trending Review: I purchased the Peltor Sport Tactical 100’s as well as two other well known brands of electronic hearing protection in the same price range (Walker and Howard Leight). The Peltors were far superior. They sealed around my ears the best, were the most comfortable, and the sound quality is really incomparable to the other two. The Walkers sounded like you had your head in a bucket, produced static when walking around and didn’t actually seal around my ears to my head. The Howards were a mild improvement due to a better seal and comfort, but they still sounded very digital/artificial as opposed to the natural tonal quality of the Peltors. With the Walkers and Howards, sure you can hear people talking but actually understanding them is difficult. With the Peltors I felt like I could actually hold a normal conversation. Between the natural tone and the comfort I truly can wear these for hours and forget that I have them on.
Something to note- These Peltors actually shut the active audio off for a moment when a loud noise is detected as opposed to compressing the noise like the other two. This takes some getting used to, but I actually prefer it to the compression method of the other products- I just never felt like the compression was enough to protect my ears, and working as a professional audio engineer, I know that compressing something that much (enough to be safe), fast enough would be really hard to do, especially for fifty bucks. Peltors all the way! -James
Reassuring Review: The affordability and active mic feature are what drew me me to buy these and they have withstood some punishment. I’ve dropped them hundreds of times, dropped some tools on them, thrown them in my tool bag, and they still work like usual. The microphone knob case fell off after 3 years but I can still use the metal adjuster just fine. The battery compartment cover has a band to keep it from fully separating which is great while it lasted.
Great for working indoors with loud equipment or outside at the range. They have an aux port as well which is a great distraction from the defeaning silence or crunchy sound of grass when you have the mic cranked up
I got my money’s worth: they still work and I still have my hearing. -Alistair
4. Walker’s Digital Electronic Muff-26db Nrr

Highlight: Powerful 26dB NRR with fast sound compression for ultimate hearing protection.
Constructive Review: The fit is very good for my head and is easy to adjust. The controls are easy to identify and manipulate while the muffs are on my head. I tried this with a pair of lightweight gloves…can be done but not quite as easy. The head band and ear cups are the most comfortable that I’ve used, even with eyeglasses. I bought these muffs, in part, because of the impressive noise reduction rating, but I can’t confirm the NRR without some expensive instrumentation.
Originally, I had one complaint and it was significant. On the side with the controls, there is a constant static ‘hiss’ sound. The nature of the sound changed a little bit with different settings of the controls, but it is always there. I tried a new set of batteries, but that didn’t help. These muffs are intended to be worn while I hunt feral hogs at night, using the ambient sound amplification to help identify game that is not yet in visible range. I wear the muffs almost continuously for as much as 5 hours per hunt, so this background hiss is not going to be acceptable. For range sessions of 1-2 hours, it might not be a big deal. But considering that my primary application is hunting, I have to return the muffs and select something else. After posting this review I contacted Amazon about the hiss/noise problem. They quickly agreed to exchange the muffs for another pair, which arrived the next day. The second set operates without the hiss and I think even more of these muffs now. Now that the noise is gone, I can tell that the sound amplification is most robust while in the “Power Boost” mode. This will be really helpful for my hunting application. And the impulse sound attenuation seems quite good. I haven’t gone to the range with them yet, but just the snapping of fingers near the microphones causes the electronics circuit to completely cut off for the duration of the impulse. I expect them to work well around gunfire.
I’m giving these muffs a 5-star rating, in part, because of the great Amazon customer service, which provided a solution to the original issue of noise. -Dripping Springs, TX
Trending Review: Headphones like these are generally used for shooting, and I’ve used them for that plenty, but I bought these for another purpose entirely which I’ll get to in a sec.
First off for shooting, these are amazing. They block so much noise Just putting them on. Keep in mind they are quite snug which is great for my small head haha. The four modes are pretty gimmicky honestly. You either need power boost mode or clear voice mode for 99% of applications. These do work great, and you can hear people or any noise that doesn’t surpass the decibel cutoff really well.
Now for what I use these for mostly. have you ever had to do something monotonous and very noisy and thought, “I wish I could hear the radio but this darn tool is too loud”? that’s what I use these for. Planing boards down for hours straight, Grinding or cutting concrete, sanding a custom butcher block table… Just today I was grinding a concrete floor for 8 hours and thought dang I should write a review about how good these are haha. Not only do these cancel most of the noise, but the music coming thru them sounds really good. Not too good mind you, not like studio headphones, but like a cheap set of headphones, and when there’s a deafening noise 3 feet away and you’re clearly and happily listening to your favorite Spotify playlist, that’s darn impressive.
Just a few gripes to finish up. First these auto shutoff. It seems like about 2 hours before they shutoff. they do give a one minute warning and when that warning comes up it would make sense that you could interact with the headset to reset the timer right?? Well I’ve tried several different buttons when the one-minute warning sounds out, and none of them seemed to have any effect. It seems as though once the warning comes there’s no way to stop it from shutting down the muffs in 60 seconds. Not a big deal, just turn them back on and reconnect and get back to work.
Next issue. These muffs being geared for shooters seem to leave off features for ppl like me that are using them for loud noise cancelling, while listening to music headphones rather than shooting muffs. For example, I’m running a dust extractor and 13 inch wood planer. Put headphones on to listen to music while working for a few hours. Now you HAVE to use one of the four noise boost modes. All of which perfectly accentuate the hum of the dust extractor very annoyingly. There is no mode that doesn’t use the mic to boost noise thru the speakers. So I have to find the least annoying hum and lower the volume all the way down, which again annoyingly does not shut it off all the way. Doesn’t bother me too much while working but when you pause music or shut off the planer you can hear it.
Not big enough issues for me to knock off a star. I’m not using the product as it’s intended to be used anyways. As far as I’m concerned these things are a lifesaver for anyone that likes to listen to music while working on long, very loud projects. -Kyle
Reassuring Review: The WALKER’S XCEL Digital Electronic Muff is a game-changer for shooting sports or any loud environment where you need top-notch hearing protection. With a 26dB NRR, these earmuffs provide excellent noise reduction while still allowing you to hear important sounds, like conversation or range commands, through the sound enhancement feature.
I love how comfortable these are to wear for long sessions—they fit snugly, and the adjustable headband ensures a good fit for my head size. The sound quality is outstanding; it amplifies quiet sounds without distorting louder noises, providing the perfect balance.
The earmuffs are powered by 2 AAA batteries, and the battery life is impressive, lasting through multiple sessions without needing a change. They’re also pretty lightweight, so they don’t feel heavy after hours of use.
If you’re looking for effective hearing protection with the added benefit of sound enhancement, I highly recommend the WALKER’S XCEL Digital Electronic Muff. They’re durable, comfortable, and truly make a difference in terms of safety and convenience. -John
5. PROHEAR 030 Bluetooth 5.4

Highlight: The PROHEAR 030 Bluetooth 5.4 combines premium hearing protection with Bluetooth 5.4 for easy music and call streaming.
Constructive Review: I recently purchased the Bluetooth Electronic Shooting Ear Protection Earmuffs, and I must say, they have been excellent at the shooting range, whether indoors or outdoors. Even with the microphone turned off, they were slightly louder than expected at the range, but overall, they still offer great protection for my ears.
I appreciate how these earmuffs help me stay vigilant and aware of my surroundings while shooting. The ability to listen to music while wearing them is a nice bonus. The earmuffs are comfortable to wear, and the Bluetooth feature works seamlessly.
The only minor downside I noticed was the slight loudness at the range then expected, but considering the excellent ear protection they provide, you get use to these types of earmuffs.
Overall, I highly recommend the Bluetooth Electronic Shooting Ear Protection Earmuffs for anyone who wants to stay alert, protected, and enjoys listening to music during their shooting sessions.
This review highlights both the positive aspects of the product, such as its effectiveness in providing protection and enabling the user to stay vigilant and listen to music, as well as a minor drawback concerning the loudness at the range. Such insights can be valuable for other potential customers considering this product for their shooting needs. -Mario
Trending Review: I get so many compliments on these from my carpentry friends. They’re useful for mowing and vacuuming too! Bluetooth is easy to use, and the noise cancellation toggle is really handy (sometimes they work so well I end up yelling on accident). One thing I would change is that I wish they were rechargeable – that wasn’t something I thought to consider when purchasing. -Katie
Reassuring Review: Lasted far over a year didn’t realize I had not given a review will most definitely have to buy another pair but only BECOUSE our. Puppy has behavior issues apparently ……. Keep away from dogs … Best headset for music and gun range and cutting grass I think I’ve ever used hands down Bluetooth works well and so does the aux cable
External sound works and reactive to gunfire very nice. -Justin t aycocke
6. Howard Leight by Honeywell (R-01526)

Highlight: The Howard Leight by Honeywell (R-01526) features an NRR 30 dB for top-notch hearing protection.
Constructive Review: This is my second set. The first was so good, I wanted another pair as backups/loaners.
These things are comfortable, work great with rifle stocks (assuming you have correct cheek weld and aren’t leaning your head way over like a novice shooter), and give you super-human hearing ability.Case in point, I was finishing a shotgun dusk shoot, and packing my gear into my car. I was by myself, so when I heard footsteps, I was quite surprised. I looked around, but didn’t see anyone. I shined my flashlight at the source of the noise, and it was a coyote slowly navigating the rocky and sandy slope about 100 yards beyond the parking area. Really amazed me, as he sounded like he was only 10 yards away. Turns out while packing my gear, I bumped the volume knob and it was set to max sensitivity, lol!
The quality of the sound in these is so good you might think they aren’t working, like you aren’t even wearing them. When a sound source gets loud enough to damage hearing, it auto-shuts-off the speakers, and the passive system does its thing, then the speakers turn on again. The speaker volume has a little lag time when adjusting, so I recommend you snap your fingers while making small adjustments to the volume. Stop when the finger snapping sounds as if you aren’t wearing any headphones.
These things will change the way you interact on the range, as it feels natural. You will probably get annoyed by shooters who aren’t using these, as they will yell everything, and be like, “huh?” when you speak. I have to remind myself during RSO duty that not everyone is wearing good ear pro like these. pretty much every RSO has these, or a comparable brand, so we can communicate with each other without shouting. Really helps save your voice when you have a 10 hour duty day.
While I haven’t hunted, but my brother uses these when elk hunting, and he swears by them. From my experience with the coyote in the desert, I imagine they’d be a hunting game-changer.
10/10 would recommend. I can’t praise these highly enough. -J. Franklin
Trending Review: Bought them on sale and very pleased! Wish I’d gotten them long ago. As others have noted, they’re comfortable and work very well. Although I just got them several days ago, it doesn’t take a gun range to know these perform as advertised. I took a 3′ 2×4 and “SLAMMED it down as hard as I could” on my “solid” workbench to test these. Switched on or off they work period, so if the btty’s die while your out you still have ear protection and the classic muffled sounds around you just as typical shooting muffs would sound. With them switched on, sound is clarified, crisp, and at room volume, including loud sounds. Anyone who’s slapped a short 3′ 2×4 on flat concrete, a bench or the floor hard knows… that’s an ear shattering loud sound that is as loud as most firearms.
They work so good I was in denial and just had to hear how loud that 2×4 was on the bench without them on my head. Duh!!! Dummy me knowing better, I took them off and slammed that 2×4 down HARD. HOLLY CRAP!!!… my ears were ringing the rest of the day like I’d let a round off without ear protection! (Yep!.. go ahead and laugh, I did.) Damn sure won’t do that again!!! Trust me, you don’t want to repeat my ignorant stupidity without them on! They DO work! Volume is adjustable enough to satisfy even the hard of hearing and the mic’s are stereo. If you wear hearing aids, I suggest you test without first. If not loud enough, then try to adjust both so they work best for you without any feedback between the two. You can definitely tell right from left sounds. Reverse them on your head if you want to focus sound from the rear, say at the range, or if you want to hear something coming up behind you without turning and spooking whatever game it might be. They aren’t super directional as you hear sounds all around you, but enough so that sound is more pronounced in the direction of the mic’s (facing front or rear).
These will work no matter what environment your in, be it a noisy work place, at the range, or hunting! Audio jack is good for voice recordings etc, but forget it if you want to listen to music. They don’t have the sound range needed to reproduce reasonable quality music reproduction or base. I suppose you could snake your earbuds on at the same time and get a good balance depending on your application environment, just as you would with earbuds on in the normal world of sound. Folks, this is cheap hearing protection for anyone that needs it. Don’t think twice about it! Just buy them and enjoy peace of mind and preserve your precious hearing. Once your hearing’s gone, it’s gone!!! Do yourself a favor and protect it regardless what noisy environment you need protection from. Coming from someone who had excellent hearing, believe me when I say you’ll miss it if you don’t protect it now! You won’t be disappointed with these. 😉 – Andy
Reassuring Review: Working in law enforcement has reinforced the notion that quality hearing protection is essential. Now you could go spend your hard earned money on $300+ premium military contractor earpro (ear protection), or you could devote all that extra cash to range day brass. I run these earpro in my duty gear as well as when I go to the range on my personal time. The speakers enhance the noises around you and I can say that I can hear quieter noises better with these. The speakers seem to have directional microphones so you be specially aware and tell exactly where around you the sound is coming from (not sure why it’s not advertised as having such feature). I reccomend these to everyone and I bought the gel earpad replacements for a more comfortable fit as I wear these earpro prescription glasses. I reccomend these to all my buddies/coworkers who are looking for a quality pair. AAA batteries are included. -Aidan
7. TradeSmart All-in-One Shooting Ear Protection

Highlight: Complete ear and eye protection in one easy-to-use kit.
Constructive Review: I was so excited to receive this set (pink). I just started shooting and wanted my own (and yes in a girlie fun color). I LOVE these!! The headphones are of great quality (I even made a joke saying I’ll wear them around the house because I have two boys 🤣). The safety glasses are also great and fun AND came with a soft cloth case for each. Wait! There’s more! The case is also soft, smooth material over a hard molded shell molded for the headphones with two pockets for the glasses. Seriously, a great buy! The 10 year warranty is yet another bonus! -Bianca
Trending Review: I bought five sets of of this ear and eye pro for the family and me. Just used mine today. Came very well packaged. Everyone got the color they wanted. Having the hardened case is nice. Kept mine in car for convenience. As soon as I took my muffs out of the plastic bag one of the padded earpieces fell off. It did this two more times before I was finally able to seat it properly and snap it back into place. No more problems for the rest of the day. I did not use the foamies but doubled up with fitted earplugs inside the muffs. Worked really well. I did not use the eye pro as I wear glasses.
I have looked at them and if taken care of appear as if they will last. Eye pro comes in a protective bag that doubles as a cleaning cloth. All contents are neatly packed in the case which also has two netted compartments for the glasses and the earplugs. The muffs are comfortable and fit snuggly. They provide a higher than minimum amount of protection (according to description). Overall I think this is a good range kit and I am pleased with the purchase. -Kevin Smith
Reassuring Review: I love these earmuffs! I work in construction & the older I get, the more I recognize the importance of ear protection. Over the years, I have tried many different styles & brands only to find myself, for one reason or another, totally disappointed in them. These TRADESMART Earmuffs are a great buy. Not only are they far more reasonably priced than any of the others I’ve bought in the past, they cut out just the right amount of noise for someone who needs to protect their hearing while also keeping an eye on other things that are going on around them.
TRADESMART offers many other buying options, but the one I chose also came with earplugs & two pairs of really nice quality safety glasses, (one clear pair & the other sunglasses.) WOW! The glasses are important to me because, after witnessing so many eye injuries on my job sites over the years, I’ve also become extremely conscientious about eye protection too.
Additionally, my set also came with a high quality hard, but padded carrying/storage case, which is perfectly molded for everything to fit snugly in it. If you’ve ever used earmuffs or safety glasses, then you don’t need me to tell you how important that is, especially when you work on job sites where people often carelessly toss other people’s things out of their way. When these earmuffs or glasses are taken off, it’s just as easy to lay them in the fitted case, as it is to lay them on a table. If I’m not going to be using them again for a while, then I can zip the case up so they are totally protected & easy to carry too.
I hope this review is helpful to others trying to make the all important decision about how to protect their ears & eyes. We only get one pair of each, & my feeling is that it makes far more sense to pay the small price of protecting them as much as we can, than to pay the huge price of irreversibly losing the use of either or both of them. -Michal
8. PROHEAR 037 Bluetooth 5.3

Highlight: PROHEAR 037 combines Bluetooth 5.3 with powerful noise reduction for seamless protection and connectivity.
Constructive Review: I’ve had these things for two years and had to come back to leave a review. They are absolutely the best headphones I’ve ever had.
I am a Stone Mason. It’s a dirty, rough, outdoor job in the Texas heat. These things not only have lasted a year longer than my EarPods but they sound 100 times better too. With the noise cancelation I can work around heavy machinery and still hear my music perfectly, loudly, and with thumping bass. My EarPods hardly made it half a year before they broke.
And I’m not sure if these things are waterproof but I left them at a job one day, there was a huge storm, rained on them all night. No cover no protection. I assumed they were done for. Got to work the next day and not only were they still charged but they worked. Perfectly.
And that’s another thing. EarPods last me about 3 hours of continuous use and they need to be charged. For two years I have worn these things ALL DAY, 12-14 hour days and they have NEVER died on me. I charge em at night. I don’t know how long the battery is supposed to last but it’s longer than 14 hours.
If you’re on the fence about what headphones to buy you’ve found the right pair. Stop looking and trust me. And for all you laborers out there, these headphones are so strong, so good, they’ll blow your mind.
If these ever break on me. I will 100% buy the same pair again and again. But like I said, it’s been two years on construction crews in the Texas heat and even through a rainstorm they’re still going strong.
Amazing work Prohear. You guys knocked it outta the park with this one. -James
Trending Review: I did not add a picture since it just looks like what is shown.
I have very bad auditory sensory issues especially with cars driving by. Since cars are way too present in the world, it means I can rarely go out. Well, that was the case. I can go out more. I can do more things. It has improved my quality of living!! I tried normal ear defenders (the ones that look like this but do not play music), ear plugs (loop), normal blue tooth headphones. And stuff like Sony Noise Cancelling whatever stuff is like 200 dollars which is very expensive. With music on (it is important to note that I listen to not very slow music and listen to stuff like EDM so that definitely helps), it can be so when I clap my hands I hear nothing.
The only downside would probably be comfort long term. 3 hours is when it starts to get a bit bad but any discomfort is nothing compared to the terrible sounds. I would say if you have sensory issues and other stuff isn’t enough, this may be a good thing to try!! I also got the gel pads. I do not know if the other ones would be good. But they are soft and I have had no ear pain. It is mostly due to continued pressure and stuff like that. So I would recommend this product for my reasons listed above but aside from that I do not know since that is their purpose. Also the battery life is not bad from what I have seen. Also, it does talk like “Power on” with a human woman voice. So if you hate when they talk, might not be good to get. Though you could take them off and on during the power on and offs and then it might happen when battery is low but I don’t know since I keep it well charged so I haven’t experienced any battery low warnings. That is the review. -Alexender
Reassuring Review: Definitely lasts all day at work listening at mid to low volume, I work about 8-10 hours a day (battery usually indicates about 50% life at the end of the day). The sound quality is really good, I was surprised, not going to lie. The noise cancelling is about the same as normal earmuffs. As with any over the ear headset they can get sweaty, the non-porous surface wipes dry easy enough without getting saturated. The clamping force was a bit much and I had to over flex the band to make it more comfortable but I have a big head so mileage may vary on that. Overall no real complaints I would buy again. -Erick
9. PROHEAR Electronic Ear Protection for Shooting

Highlight: Ultra-fast sound compression and crystal-clear audio let you stay protected without missing a single important sound.
Constructive Review: I’ve been using the ranges pair of these and I finally sprung for a set. I really love these. The surround sound can be amplified and you can still shoot safely without damaging your ears!
They’re easy to adjust and I saw you could buy new gel muffs, I might upgrade later when I wear these out but these muffs are comfortable too. It batteries are way to get to and to replace, I don’t know about how long they last yet and I also haven’t tried the Bluetooth function yet as I wanna listen to my gun as I shoot and not music. I don’t know if I’ll ever use the Bluetooth on this. -Calrk
Trending Review: I have a son he is diagnosed with ADHD. He is also a little autistic. His ears are very sensitive and loud places or loud people throw him off his game. These help with those sudden loud noises. He can also hear very well with them on as if he wasn’t wearing them at all. -Traci Manley
Reassuring Review: I took these great muffs to the indoor shooting range the other day for the first time. Wow! Great noise reduction to the point the pistol concussion (the bang) was a lot more silent than expected. I wear inner ear hearing aids so that was a huge plus. The sound adjustment for speaking to others in a noisy environment was really good too. They are very comfortable, and I even got compliments from the range monitors. They also liked the hook and latch flags I put on. I definitely recommend this ear protection. -Jony
10. PROHEAR 016 Shooting Ear Protection Earmuffs

Highlight: Lightweight and durable, the PROHEAR 016 offers high NRR protection with ultra-comfortable ear cushions for all-day wear at the range.
Constructive Review: I got sick of using the disposable ear plugs, and the re-usable plugs were just a bit too uncomfortable.
I wanted something that was re-usable without breaking the bank. This two pack was great for me and my partner, they’re adjustable and fit both of us well, they dampen sound to a bearable level. Definitely a solid set of ear protection for a great price.
They’re also quite compact all folded up so they’re not taking up much room when we go, they’re light and haven’t hurt my head to wear for a few hours. Very happy with them! -KingKyle
Trending Review: I recently got my hands on what I believe to be the best electronic headphones on the market, and I couldn’t be happier! The sound quality is incredible, and they’re super comfortable for long uses. I found them on Amazon for about $30 less than Bass Pro Shop, which is a great deal. I recommend these headphones 110 percent for anyone looking for top-notch audio without breaking the bank! -Adriana SantaCruz
Reassuring Review: Used these for shooting range days. They both come with a pack of ear plugs also. U dont need the ear plugs when shooting a 12 gauge .22 or even a .270 rifle. I have a 357 magnum shot some .38 special ammo out of it. Then used 357 ammo and first shot ears rang with just earmuffs. Had to put in the earplugs before putting those back on and it didnt make them ring anymore. But ya some like high compression ammo or guns u will need to use the ear plugs with ear muffs. Pretty good for the money. -Aaron
11. Walker’s Razor Slim Ultra

Highlight: Ultra-slim design with lightning-fast sound-activated compression for maximum comfort and protection at the range.
Constructive Review: I bought these ear protection headphones for myself, my partner, and my father for when we go to the range. They work really well—block out the loud gunshots while still allowing us to talk to each other. The sound quality is good, and you don’t have to yell to be heard, even with the noise around you. Perfect for range days, and they’re comfortable to wear for long periods. Definitely recommend! -Alexia
Trending Review: These work great, I have never used the electronic ear protection and what a game changer! Allows you to talk to others while still protecting your ears from gun shots or other loud noises. The volume control is easy to access and easily adjusts the volume. They are comfortable, I wore them for about 3 hours and they have a nice fit with adjustable head band. They have a sleek design and look great. I bought the black ones because they were for sale for a great price but they have other colors to choose from. Would recommend! -Dustin
Reassuring Review: These headsets worked better than expected. Used them for several days on the range and they were ideal. Could not have asked for better headsets. I’m sure the more expensive pairs come with more bells and whistles but for what I need these fit the bill.
They were streamlined and not bulky. Also fit great over my cap and even got my sunglasses to fit. The microphone picked up conversations better than my own set of ears. Worked out to have them on most of the time. Never felt uncomfortable even in the South Florida sun. -Alex Acosta

Trending Review: I recently started going to my local shooting range with some buddies, and I was looking for some ear protection that I didn’t need to rent every time I went. After looking around, I came across this bundle. And I honestly couldn’t be happier. This bundle comes with everything you could possibly need to go to the range. Especially, if it’s your first time. The ear protection is very adjustable and comfortable, which is a bonus for someone with a big head like mine. The amount of noise reduced was amazing, which I didn’t truly realize how much it was reducing until after I took them off. Now I can’t speak for the eye protection at all. I wear glasses, so I didn’t need them. But if the ear protection is anything to go by, the eye protection should be just as great. My bundle came with two different pairs as well. One for indoor ranges, and the other for outdoor ranges. I can’t recommend this bundle highly enough. -Demarius L. Hughes
Reassuring Review: I have a preferred pair for my daily use. Got this set to teach others. They are very nice except I needed to file down some spots on the sunglasses and safety glasses to take down the injection mold seems on the arms behind the ears. Now they are excellent. Dropped the sunglasses in the street lens down. They looked pretty scratched. Ran them under some water with a mild hand soap. To my great joy not a scratch on the lens. The frame took some small dings but still look and work great. Worth every penny. Would suggest to anyone. Just use a nail file on the sharp bits behind the ear. Ear protection is high comfort and does an excellent job for the price. But while shoot a rifle they can block your line of sight a bit just like every over the ear pair does. Can recommend. -Chef S
