1. Umarex T4E Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 .43 Caliber Training Pistol

Umarex T4E Smith Wesson MP M2.0 .43 Caliber Training Pistol

Highlight: Realistic law enforcement training tool with blowback action and .43 caliber precision for unmatched realism and performance.

Constructive Review: I have an real M&P 9 M2.0 and this one is very very close to it. It models after the full size without the thumb safety. I loaded it with a couple of C02 cartridges and some metal balls and gave it a good go.

Sound isn’t that loud. It sounds like a muffled fire, maybe quarter of the sound of open air. It’s enough that it fooled my neighbor and she is an avid shooter. Blowback is nothing. There is a little bit, especially on a new C02 cartidge but it decreases.

And speaking of C02, I got off about 20-30 rounds before the degredation was significant enough for me to consider replacing it. By round 40 the pressure wasn’t enough to reset the barrel and I had to do it manually to use the rest of the C02.

The cartrige was old (from my other painball gun) though, so others might get better performance. I order the high-grade cartridges so maybe I will get better performance, but 20-30 is good. That’s 24 solid rounds on one cartridge.

Now for the bad. Well, for the okay.

Big drawback is that you have to walk around with the hex key to change the C02. That is my biggest complaint. Every other paintball gun I owned, even the BB guns when I was younger, all had a turn switch built in. You put in the cartridge, turn the switch, and you’re good to go.

This? If you forget or lose the hex key your day is done until you get it.

That would be the only thing I’d change. At the end of the mag is a sliding cover for the screw. I might have made it a bit thicker and used an actual turn switch and used the cover to conceal it, and it would still look like a replica.

Other than that, there is only one thing to be aware of. Not really a complaint though. Just an observation.

Early use the action is very consistent. For the first 15-20 rounds or so, the C02 is strong enough that barrel slides back far enough to reload and ready it for firing again, (it cocks just like a semi-automatic), but as the C02 gets weaker, you’ll have to manually cock it for each shot.

I guess you could hold down the pin on the slide, but that’s pointless because the pressure won’t be enough for the hammer to slide all the way back anyway.

As you get used to it you’ll be able to quickly cock and fire anyway, so it’s just something to be aware of if you’re going to use it for paintball or war games or something. Find a good hiding spot and don’t lose your hex key between cartriges lol.

All in all, it’s a great gun, and yes, as the title says, a good training pistol.

Just remember to buy a cleaning kit with cleaning rounds. This came with a brush, but if you really want to take care of it spend a couple extra bucks and buy a cleaning kit, preferably one with oil drops.

Also, this is good for home defense, which is why I bought this one. It does fire .43 cal pepper balls.

I may buy a second for recreation though because I will be using pepper balls in this one. Or I may just buy an extra magazine for it and clean the barrel between uses. Last thing I want is to tag some poor opponent and there’s powder residue from the pepper balls. They’re gonna have a bad day. lol -Dexter Nelson

Trending Review: So, I’ve had several of Umarex’s different models, and I really like them as a company. In particular, their .43/.50 calibers offer amazingly realistic models to their real-world counterparts. Only an expert would be able to tell the difference between this and the real thing short of dropping the mag or firing a shot. It also works perfectly with any holsters, accessories, etc made for the original.

Now, let’s get to the more important point, and that’s if it’s worth the cost considering you can just about buy the actual firearm it’s modeled after for not too much difference in price. I personally would purchase it again in a heartbeat, but I think this will just depend on what you’re hoping to use it for. For a much cheaper/quieter shooting experience- for instance, a day at the range for target practice- this thing is amazing. It feels very similar to shooting the real thing with just slightly less recoil and quite a bit less noise. The biggest issue with using it for this purpose is that a 12g C02 obviously just can’t come close to the power needed to fire rounds at anything more than 20 yards MAX before you’re going to start having a massive drop off in accuracy (and I found that to be the case using the rubber balls- due to a lack of weight- or the steel balls for the exact opposite reason). And though the ammo is indeed cheaper than 9mm rounds, it can still add up quickly if you’re shooting outdoors and can’t find them all. For this reason, if doing strictly target practice, I’d recommend the paint/powder versions, which while not reuseable, the cost difference more than makes up for it imho.

Now, on to the second reason I can see someone wanting this over the real thing, and that’s due to the obvious fact that this thing can no joke make for a VERY REAL defense weapon without having to worry about being off target and accidentally hitting a family member through the drywall in your house, or simply just not wanting to have the potentially serious side effects of being unfortunate enough to have to use lethal force, no matter what the situation that required it. And for this reason alone, I would HIGHLY recommend this weapon. To keep it simple, if the sight of the gun alone isn’t enough to stop most would be attackers, I guarantee one of the pepper rounds will certainly get the job done 99% of the time, even if your aim isn’t perfect (or all that close even for that matter lol). And worse case scenario for any innocent bystanders who might come into contact with it, they’ll be uncomfortable, but they’ll be alive. And at the end of the day, isn’t that the whole point of having a weapon for self-defense? To keep your loved ones alive. This will definitely make that a much more likely outcome should you ever end up in a situation that would call for the use of something similar, and to me, that’s easily worth $200.

For those curious the type of force this shoots with, I have pictures of the damage/penetration power using the various types of ammo available at varying distances, and hopefully the pictures will get approved to be uploaded with the review shortly! -CodyBur

Reassuring Review: I’m a former Marine so guns are my thing but this sets the bar for an exemplary non lethal firearm. It’s even better than I imagined it would be and you can fire .43 pepper rounds through it. Perfect for my wife! It is accurate and powerful for what it is. If you are looking for a pepperball gun stay away from the 500 dollar plastic pieces of garbage. This is the product you are looking for! -Cody Conway

2. Umarex Beretta M92 A1 Blowback Air Pistol

Umarex Beretta M92 A1 Blowback Air Pistol

Highlight: Realistic full-metal construction with blowback action for an authentic Beretta M92 shooting experience.

Constructive Review: Well I a bit surprised at this BB pistol. Heavy and very realistic. Now had to wait for CO2 to arrive then had to wait for the silicone lubricant. ALL IN HAND it became time to try it. Evidently there a change in the magazine design and the Owners Manual appears to be for the older magazine, so there a glitch there, but easily figured out. Only issue I did see was the full auto capacity did not always work, remained a semi auto one shot at a time – but as time passed and it was used the full auto became more reliable. Is fairly accurate for a BB pistol. For super accuracy in a BB gun – slower velocity is really important. Was fairly easy to hold on target when the full auto was working, which I found delightful. Looks good, acts and works good, and I am happy. This really just a toy to play around with and have fun. For sure not for children without supervision. -Davey C

Trending Review: Fully automatic is crazy fast. I read bad reviews and it’s not at all like that with mine. I don’t care if it shoots straight or how many fps it is. Single shot is boring. I’m not interested in shooting a target one shot at a time. I bought it to chase deer out of my yard and it works. Then we installed a deer fence three weeks later. I was having fun . It’s not hard to load and the spring locks so you can put bb in it. I called customer service with a question and got a live person quickly. He answered the question and said if I needed anything call back . My gun works fine . I don’t use it every day but when I do it’s a blast on fully automatic. I mean fast. For me I’m glad I got this gun at this price.. i don’t know why people are saying everything bad about it but it’s not like that with my gun. I’ll update if anything comes up.. by the way I shot a fence and the bb get there really quick. I don’t want to kill anything or do boring target practice..i just like pulling the trigger and unloading 18 rounds in a couple seconds if that long. Oiling the gun makes it better. UPDATE. The co2 will not come out..I tighten it really tight but they usually come out with no problem just fall out. -Steward

Reassuring Review: This is the best BB pistol I’ve ever seen in my life! I have had it for 6 hours and I am absolutely impressed with the quality the feel the weight the realness. Combine with the excellent CO2 equipped magazines which are pretty pricey for extras but well worth buying. Full auto function is unreal and faster then a lot of rifles. At this point the only downfall I see is a little weak, uses air really fast in full auto and magazine should hold a lot more rounds. The quality the looks the feel and the unbelievable full full auto make that issue very moot. So I will tell if you are into BB guns you have to buy this one you will not be disappointed. Steve

3. Umarex Beretta M9A3 Air Pistol

Umarex Beretta M9A3 Air Pistol

Highlight: Realistic Blowback Action and Full-Metal Build – the Umarex Beretta M9A3 delivers authentic feel and performance for tactical training and plinking.

Constructive Review: This is a highly precision piece…It does not come out of the box with accuracy..That has to be learned with practice, using the right steel BB’s…All air pistols and rifles are different with one shooting well with one kind of ammo while another shoots better with a different ammo…Its up to you to find out which is best for your gun.
This Baretta is an eye catcher with semi-auto and full-auto…Weight and ease of fire are excellent…As always with any airgun, my personal rule, if it moves, oil it”…Use proper airgun oil so you don’t damage your seals…Having dozens of air pistols and rifles, this Baretta, is an excellent addition to my collection…I do not feel this is a beginner airgun…However, experienced shooter’s will love it. -Wally

Trending Review: This is a very good copy of the Beretta 92F. It has the feel and functionality of the real thing. I own a Beretta 92F and this gun fits in the same holsters and utilizes the same accessories. It is an excellent tool for teaching kids gun safety, gun handling and proper shooting techniques before moving them to real firearms. Given the high cost and low availability of ammunition these days, it is a good way to keep you proficient in your gun drills with the added benefit you can shoot in your backyard instead of a gun range. I have no problems with the full auto function of the gun nor has the gun fallen apart as some other reviews claim. As with real firearms, it does require lubrication on the moving parts. It is well made and it is a lot of fun to spray BBs in one long continuous burst. -AbbyNormal

Reassuring Review: The gun looks and feels real. The weight surprised me, it’s all metal and feels like a real gun. On full auto setting you get about 2 full clips before a cartridge gets weak. Change cartridge and don’t shoot until out of air. The reason for this is because the BB’s will jam in the chamber. After two clip, waste the rest of the air and install new CO2 my recommendation. It’s accurate for a BB gun pistol, further than 20ft and you start losing accuracy, this is expected. -Thomos J Griffith

4. Umarex Colt Peacemaker Revolver Air Pistol

Umarex Colt Peacemaker Revolver Air Pistol

Highlight: Authentic Old West feel with full-metal construction and realistic revolver action — the Umarex Colt Peacemaker is a true classic.

Constructive Review: This gun is heavy, a big iron for my hip. It feels very classical and very suitable for my hand, and it’s very simple, which makes it a timeless classic. It’s worth the money to get all the practice in before shooting the real thing, this ones heavy like the real one too almost. But the handle CAN be fragile when opening to change co2 cartridge so be careful. I had this gun for over a year and a half, been using it in many conditions and temperatures, shoots perfectly fine.

Got jammed once due to my error of shooting with a nearly empty co2, BUT the simple build of this gun allowed me to deconstruct parts of this revolver and retrieve the bb, which was awesome. Nicholas

Trending Review: I was hesitant to pay the same I paid for my Heritage 22lr Rough Rider. (real deal) But it ended up being well worth it. Weight is same, the sites the same, identical.. Thats why I wanted it, practice with it, and go to the range with my 22LR and shoot better. This is accurate, quiet, and awesome trigger. Very light. I just load the pellets into the cartridge, no need to remove, actually way slower…..
Only negative is…when you put the safety on, it LOCKS everything. Should be only the trigger. You have to 1/2 cock the hammer, and load, then carefully pull trigger and let the hammer down….Make SURE you are pointing into the ground. I had a pellet come out.. I now, Make a point, to load it, and dont point and aim, until I am ready to shoot, only then FULLY pull the trigger back to shoot….safety 1st. I recomment it though. Methew

Reassuring Review: I was raised on single action revolvers. It started out when I got a pair of cap guns resembling Peacemakers for my 6th Birthday. I cleaned up the neighborhood. I ridded the community of bandits, bank robbers, rustlers and other two-legged varmint. It sometimes got me in trouble, but I was fearless and well armed. Later on, I got my first real gun. It was a Ruger Single Six. A few years later, I afforded a pair of Colt SAA in .45 Colt, followed by a few more. I still have 3 of these.
These days, I don’t get to the range much. I had bought a few air guns, mostly the CO2 type. I can shoot these in the house using a good pellet trap which I have 3 of them. The other day, while ogling and cleaning my precious Peacemakers, it occurred to me that Umarex makes these in .177 cal pellet, CO2 powered. I did some research and turned around and ordered one. I was a little skeptical, but the price was not prohibitive.
On the day it came, I fell in love. This CO2 powered Colt SAA by far exceeded my expectations. I am amazed by its accuracy. On mine, the sights are right on. The ejection rod is functional but not really needed. In fact, when the gun is canted, muzzle up, the cartridges fall out by themselves. I dropped the first one on the floor, not expecting this. I got used to it.
On the real Colt, the base pin can be removed in order to take the cylinder out of the frame for cleaning. On the Umarex replica one needs tools to do so. But with this gun that is not really necessary, and I do not recommend you mess with this. Just leave the cylinder in its place. I also ordered more cartridges to supplement the 6 silver colored ones it came with. I bought 3 sets of the gold/brass colored ones. They function just like the silver ones, but they cost less. Now, these cartridges do not resemble the actual .45 Colt ammo. Instead, they look a lot like .357 Mags. This does not bother me. If I want to show off I stick the Umarex into one of my Western style holsters/belts the loops of which are filled with .45 Colt cartridges.
This revolver looks and feels like the real thing, and it weighs and balances the same. The grips are not like any I ever saw and laid my hands on, but they are very nice looking. I just pretend they are custom made which they are, in a sense. Cosmetically, this gun looks amazingly like the real thing. There is one visible deviation from the real article. On the grip frame, right where the hammer and the frame meet, there is some black in color polymer type insert. I guess this has to do with it being a CO2 powered replica. There is nothing one can do about this. I can live with it.
I tested it on my 8 meter range in my shop. I use RWS Meisterkugeln pellets, the only ones I ever use as they have always worked for me, for decades. My first group of 6 shots were right on target and I could cover the hole with a Nickel. I guess I was a little flakey from all the excitement about this new gun. The next day, I shot 3 more groups of six rounds all of them I could easily cover with a dime. Well, I have decades of experience with all kinds of air guns and fire arms including US Army MP Corps for nigh 8 years.
Overall, I am very very pleased with this version of a Peacemaker. I can only recommend to all who have knack for it. You won’t be sorry. -Roger Dodger

5. Umarex SA10 Air Pistol

Umarex SA10 Air Pistol

Highlight: A versatile CO2-powered airgun combining tactical design with blowback action and precision shooting.

Constructive Review: Pretty close clone of the Sig Sauer P322. The barrel has an thread protector that can be removed so “accessories”
can be installed. The pistol is double action for the first shot, afterwards the trigger becomes single action and breaks pretty nicely even though it is rotating the cylindrical magazine. The three extra rotating magazines are easily switched out, but you have to be careful not to have them drop out after removing the magazine to switch them. My copy easily ran all 4 magazines before the pistol began showing signs of loosing power. There are three other “clones” of duty weapon pistols that are more accurate looking, however this is the one to really consider if you’re just looking for something to dispatch cans. If I’m just goofing around in the backyard this is the one I reach for every time. -Don.S

Trending Review: The Umarex SA10 is unquestionably the most impressive Umarex I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning. Having amassed a collection of double-digit Umarex units over the years, I can confidently affirm that this model represents a significant leap forward from the tried-and-true Glock 19 design I’ve relied on for so long.
What truly stands out is the new mechanism, which admirably maintains a superior seal. When you load it, the weight provides an authentic magazine-like feel. The revolver-style BB dispensing mechanism performs exceptionally well, although it can be a tad tricky and time-consuming to load. I do wish there was a more efficient loading method that prevented the discs from falling out during the process. You really have to click them in and only load them upside down or the pellets fall out.
In terms of accuracy, the SA10 outperforms my other Umarex handguns, consistently delivering precise shots. The styling is undeniably impressive, though personally, I lean toward a chrome and black finish over the gold and black option.
Notably, the SA10 bears a striking resemblance to a Sig Sauer, particularly in the grip, which closely resembles a Sig P320. However, one area for potential improvement is the delayed trigger break, which I believe could enhance the overall shooting experience if it occurred sooner. -James G

Reassuring Review: I want so so bad to give this a good review I’ll give it four stars for some reasons. It’s cool

looking. It feels great to shoot nice blow back action with a good recoil. Here’s the problems I’ve had so far. I’m only using

pellets so I just leave out the BB rotary ( it kept falling out anyway every time I removed the mag. ) So after about 90
shots the first co2 died, not the best not the worst, and then the jamming started. New co2 more jamming, and at one
point the trigger wouldn’t move it just sticks in back. When that’s not happening the hammer won’t settle properly.

Next day tried some more switched out the waddcutters for h&n hammers started great noticed at the 60 shot mark the gun started to lose power, then stopped shooting, trigger jammed up couldn’t remove the magazine again…kinda bummed but when it does shoot it shoots well, I have an extra mag on the way maybe there’s something defective with this one. I’ll field strip it and see if there’s an obstruction. If anything positive happens I’ll update this review but like I said it’s pretty cool looking.

Gotta go back in and give you my edited review,
The problem I was having with jamming was the type of pellet.
This thing doesn’t like pointed pellets… been shooting with h&n and crossman hollow points no problems, must of run at least 250 + rounds not one jam. And man with an extra mag. This thing is fun fun fun fun.
Giving another edit.
This thing is awesome.
With an extra mag and using crossman hollow points it’s been fun, really nice recoil getting a solid 48 + shots per co2, usually swapping out mag’s.
Really fun, popped a laser on it helps a lot. Highly recommend -Thomas F.

6. Umarex Glock 17 Blowback Air Pistol

Umarex Glock 17 Blowback Air Pistol

Highlight: Realistic blowback action and full-metal slide make the Umarex Glock 17 feel just like the real thing—perfect for training and plinking.

Constructive Review: Everything about this product is amazing. Down to every detail possible, this Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 is worth every penny! Blowback is incredible along with the weight of the Glock. Loading the CO2 into the magazine can be a challenge so make sure to take it slow to ensure not to cross thread.
Arrived on time, packaging was a little beaten up due to not being in a box, but was double plastic bagged. Glock was fine but plastic holding it was broken into pieces. Made it easier opening though so who am I to complain.
I give this an easy 10/10! -Alex

Trending Review: I’m picky when it comes to more expensive purchases ($100 and up), so after doing an exhaustive amount of research on blowback trainer pistols, this one best met the criteria for price point, quality, and scope of use.

INITIAL IMPRESSION:
Right out of the package, the gun felt good in my hand. No defects on any of the parts, smooth trigger and slide, and realistic operation of slide release (meaning it locks when its supposed to, and will chamber a BB when a fresh mag is loaded ans the slide is released). A huge plus is that there is zero leakage when installing a new co2 cartridge like you find with cheaper models.

FIRING TEST:
Went out back and lined up on my dedicated targets (15 yards and 10 yards) accuracy was on point, no loading or cycling failures, trigger pull isn’t too heavy, and the slide blowback gives you the real-feel training that is what makes this gun 100% worth the asking price.

CONCLUSION:
I’m very happy with the crsftsmanship, attention to detail, and performance. I would easily recommend this to anyone who wants to get in some range time without leaving the house or spending a bunch of money on ammo. I will definitely be buying extra magazines for reloading practice. -Natalia

Reassuring Review: Ive had one of these things for almost two months now and have had almost no issues with it. i highly recommend this if you want a realistic blowback co2 pistol. you can take it apart like a real glock and even buy aftermarket parts like a threaded barrel and whatnot. the only thing i dislike about this gun is the co2 cartridges only last two mag fills, after the second time refilling the mag you’re better off replacing the co2 cartridge but it shoots at a decent FPS even on the second refill. its definitely not the most accurate even with full co2 but most blowback bb guns aren’t, its still a lot of fun. also keep it lubricated, if it doesn’t have some of lubrication in it, the slide will kind of lock up and stick to the bottom half when you go to release it. id recommend silicone to protect the rubber gaskets but if all you have is wd-40, sometimes you gotta make do with what you got. also the threads for the bottom of the mag where the co2 goes on the gen 4 model is a little stupid it took me 20 minutes to get it back in, you have to screw it in at an angle its hard to describe but use the allen key that comes with it you literally cannot do it by hand. and dont double cock it. when you cock the slide it chambers a bb into the barrel so if you cock it again you will jam it with 2 bbs. -Steve

7. Umarex Glock 19 Gen3

Umarex Glock 19 Gen3

Highlight: Compact, powerful, and ultra-realistic— the Umarex Glock 19 Gen3 is perfect for everyday training and backyard plinking.

Constructive Review: It’s lit!!! All for my son’s to upgrade their aim game!!!

Official Glock 19 air pistol, safety first!

I like how powerful it is well at least the first clip after inserting the C02!! It’s worth the money in my opinion as it has multiple uses! Very simple instructions safety works perfectly and you can only fire it with real intent I like that you can’t tap the trigger and bam, you have to be intentional to actually fire it, I would say it feels like the real thing but I won’t because it is the real thing just made for a different use!! Everything I aimed at I came close enough to sell myself on how good it works for me!! -Jock Lilzock

Trending Review: Have bought this 2x bc it’s THAT great. Just as reliable and durable as all other Glock products, this thing is top notch. I’ve purchased two different generations of it only bc I have a bad little tendency to drop them ALOT. That being said, they are incredible and unmatched in how they handle being dropped over and over LOL. The latest one has actually taken so many hard drops that it has finally come apart but the pieces are so durable and the construction so simple that I’ve been able to put it all back together again and it still functions as perfectly as ever. I use it to scare coyotes away from my street bc for a while they had become very comfortable hunting the neighborhood cats and had become a serious problem. This little priceless tool allowed me exceptional accuracy, range and precision to combat them in a way that was acceptable even within the city limits and on a residential street. I was able to use it on only 3 occasions before they took the hint and have since omitted my street from their regular hunting grounds. That was nearly 2 years ago and to this day I don’t leave my house without 2 glocks. This one for the coyotes and my Glock 43 9mm for the not-coyotes.. If you need or want the best, look no further. This is what you want and you won’t regret buying it or want to continue searching for a better one once you’ve tried it. -Shiloh Bushon

Reassuring Review: Click to play videoThis is the most best Glock BB gun I’ve ever owned. I had over 100 Glock BB guns, but this one is the best one I’ve ever owned. I really recommend it if you want a Glock BB gun for your kids or anything. This is the best one it’s not blowback, which is amazing because all the blowback BB guns suck but this one’s not blowback and it is the best one ever. I’m so impressive how great of a job they did on it. I put it in a real Glock holster for a real Glock 19 GEN three and it fit perfect so I love it. -Carleen Millar

8. Umarex Colt 6″ Python Air Pistol

Umarex Colt 6 Python Air Pistol

Highlight: Experience classic revolver power and precision with the Umarex Colt 6″ Python – a CO2 air pistol built for a realistic feel and superior accuracy.

Constructive Review: I wanted something fun to shoot that could also be a good pest killing option. Used to deal a lot with Snakes and a real revolver would do too much damage to the floors. a 4.5MM Copper Ball from this C02 gun is perfect for small pests like rodents and snakes if you need a quick, damaging minimizing option for camping trips where you think things may get sketchy or if you have a known problem with pests. (Subject on a state by state basis for legality obviously)

Loading is simple for both ammo and C02. It has a nice weight to it. Sights are not perfect, but are serviceable enough for semi-accurate shots at roughly a maybe two dozen meters maximum. If you’re shooting copper ball, I do recommend a very sturdy backing for whatever the target is, a 1/4 inch wood plank and some towels to catch the rounds in was enough to stop the pellet.

That all said, this is a solid option for the price. I would note that the C02 should be removed after use, even if not empty. It seems to eventually leak out anyways over time so its best to have a few extra on hand. -Nathanael Long

Trending Review: I have several really cool replica BB and pellet pistols but this is my favorite shooter. It’s very accurate, the trigger pull is really sweet (and light) and it gets many shots out of one CO2 cartridge. In short.. I love this BB pistol. And you can’t go wrong for 55 or so bucks. The one thing I would recommend is use a better BB like a Hornby black plated BB. The Crosman Copperhead babies aren’t all the same size and some will fall out of the rotary magazine. -Roger A.

Reassuring Review: Very easy to use, powerful, (came with broken trigger guard but not company’s fault) Been using it to shoot some targets and has been very accurate. Just one issue and a couple of things that arent the best. The clips that hold the bbs get very loose (after 3 weeks of barely once a day use) so now I have to gently pack the cylinders with dirt dust because they all just fall out of all 3, and they dont sell replacements :/ Second thing is not an issue but cheap handle, creaky a little bit. -Glizzy

9. Umarex Smith & Wesson M&P 40 Air Pistol

Umarex Smith Wesson MP 40 Air Pistol

Highlight: The Umarex Smith & Wesson M&P 40 Air Pistol features authentic blowback action and full-metal construction, providing true-to-life training and plinking experience.

Constructive Review: I love the pistol. The sights are great, i especially love the green glowing sight. The handle and slide out for inserting CO2, if you put too much pull, it can pop off, which is a feature in case you need to have more hand movement on the screw for the CO2 capsule. Build quality is great, ergonomic and beginner friendly. Magazine is easy to load, and is a slim stick type of magazine (due to the handle). The safety on the right side is an issue. You cant really put this in a designated holster for the same handgun. So I recommend flexible or fabric based holsters. The slide does not rack back. The packaging is that evil sharp plastic, get a scissor or razor based knife ready. Comes with a manual (recommend reading it all before handling) and the pistol with magazine. Its also a great training gun, since its realistic enough to use for the 4 rules on firearms. I recommend this airgun, but I will warn you that this is NOT A TOY. Respect this airgun as if it was a real firearm. Thank you Umarex, and I will be buying from you guys again! -Clark

Trending Review: i just got mine in today and quickly tested it, and wow. I read most of the reviews here good and bad, I can’t find anything bad on this jewel for $40.
I only had a chance to fire 3 clips thru it roughly 60 and it was very impressive. I shot handguns most of my life well ok I’m old, for the past 50 years and I along with many others consider me to be an excellent pistolero. My point is I shot 3 inch groups at 30 feet with this gun right out of the box. Trigger pull will take a little getting used to but you have to do that with any new gun you buy. You won’t be disappointed with this BB pistol.
As always remember to follow instructions and co2 air guns require a little extra care to maintain in good working order, and as some have pointed out always put a little pellgun oil on the tip of the co2 cylinder it will help protect the seal in the gun. Happy shooting.
6/25/16 have had this gun for over a year and have shot over 1000 bb’s thru it and it is still going strong. It takes a little getting used to the trigger pull since it is a 2 stage pull. Once you master that you will be able to shoot excellent 2 inch groups out to 10 yards off hand. I can shoot at a 2 inch target at 7 yards and put the full magazine in the target. This is a fantastic shooter. Plus I can now consistently hit a soda can at 20 yards. You can not go wrong with this purchase. It’s just a great shooter.
Definitely recommend. -Manuel Reyna

Reassuring Review: let me start with saying I am a certified pistol instructor and range safety officer. I work full time as a patrol officer and have been shooting all types of firearms for a long time. These are great. I purchased one to help a new adult pistol shooter grasp the concepts of safety and pretty much had the intention of settling for any shortcomings involving the consistency of the characteristics of actually shooting. Well, this thing turned out to be an awesome tool to teach with and have fun with. Not only is it about as safe as something dangerous can get without being an airoft gun, but it can provide enough consistency shooting to reinforce the basic concepts of pistol handling. It fits into a blackhawk serpa holster for smith and wesson m&p series pistols allowing it to be further utilized as a training aid in holster discipline. The sights are legit and can be trusted to properly represent what a real pistol is going to look like while aiming. Out to about 10 yards, this thing provides trustworthy feedback in trigger critique. I could go on and on. Long story short, I have two now, my nephews have learned on these, and I have several extra magazine, have shot over 6000 bb’s through them and they have provided days on end of great active fun, excellent learning opportunities, and low cost practice of grip, sight picture and sight alignment, and proper safety protocol in a very affordable and safe manner. -Intellistan

10. Umarex Brodax Air Pistol Revolver

Umarex Brodax Air Pistol Revolver

Highlight: Bold, tactical design with CO2-powered performance—Umarex Brodax delivers power and realism in every shot.

Constructive Review: I am an avid air gunner and own some very expensive hardware. This very affordable revolver is amazing. I use it to practice “instinctive” shooting. That is, point and shoot using no sights. I practice in a safe place and shoot soda cans from 10 to 20 feet. Shooting “bb” ammo,is dirt cheap and CO2 cartridges is very inexpensive. The trigger on this gun is outstanding, both single and double action. It is very quiet, virtually no recoil and fits my hand well. Like other Umarex Airguns, it is well made and very good looking. This comment comes from an 80 year old retired Army CSM who is a lifelong shooter. Be advised that this gun is a very short range item. Best accuracy is at 15-20 feet, not yards. Also, remember that bb ammo can and sometimes bounce back. Eye protection is absolutely mandatory. This last warning is true for all BB guns. -James

Trending Review: I bought this inexpensive revolver because it looked great. It reminded me, as others have said, of the futuristic pistol used by the blade-runner police in the movie of the same name. Cool. Also, I bought it because it uses the same magazine as my Colt 357 Magnum Python revolver, which shoots both Pellets and BBs. The pellet magazines are metal, while the BB magazines are plastic. Having three extra metal pellet magazines and a low price for the Brodax, the choice was easy. The BB version was spec’d at 375 fps, so I knew shooting pellets would be slower because of the additional weight of pellets vs BBs. Additionally, the Brodax also has a reputation of being a very accurate shooter.

The construction of the Brodax would be expected to be very lite, since it is all plastic. However, although it is, indeed, very lite at 1.5 pounds, it feels a lot heavier due to its solid construction and bulkiness. It has a great feel to it. It has a very lite trigger pull at about 4+ pounds in double action and about 1.5+ pounds in single action. This is one of the easiest shooting pistols that I own. I could find almost nothing to complain about except the ability to get the right grip off to put in a cylinder of CO2. It is a finger-nail breaker to pop the grip off.

The first thing I did, even before test firing the Brodax was to install a CVlife Red/Green Dot aiming aid. I am a CVlife fan and has several of their 50mm scopes so I could not pass up the Red/Green Dot device to help with aiming. I was not disappointed. The CVlife set up quickly and I was hitting in the ‘zone’ pretty quickly. Getting a good group in my test 2 inch circle targets was ridiculously easy at 10 feet so I immediately moved back to 10 yards, where I had the same result. The only pistol I have in my collection that will hit 10 shots in a 2” circle on my home range virtually every time is my Ataman AP16. Here are the specs on my shooting tests:
Using Crossman Premier 7.4 grain Wadcutters: High Velocity=335 fps, Lowest V=300 fps, Average V=312.9 fps, SD=8.8 and fpe=1.84.
Using H&N Target Trophy Green 5.71 grain Non-lead Pellets: High V=375 fps, Low V=315 fps, Average V=342.25 fps, SD=16.06 fps and fpe=1.78.

I do not know if BBs would go any higher but reading reviews I’ve seen claims that BBs will reach almost 400 fps. However, BBs can be notoriously inaccurate. Patterns I’ve seen have been all over the map. Patterns from those using pellets are almost always much tighter. If I ever have a choice I will always go for a pellet-shooter over a BB shooter. Pellets are much easier on any barrel, whether it’s smooth or rifled. If you buy a Brodax I highly recommend that you buy a set of magazines for the Colt 357 magnum and shoot pellets. You won’t give up much velocity but I believe you will have much tighter patterns and a lot more fun. Don’t let the price fool you. This is a serious plinker. I doubt anyone will show up at a shooting tournament with a Bordax, but you will have a lot of fun with this pistol and you will be getting between about 100 shots on a cylinder of CO2. … and you will feel like Harrison Ford (aka Decker) going after rough androids. -Radduci

Reassuring Review: First Shotting was nice. Kind of loud but still nice. Has a solid feel to it and is well made. Simple to load up and simple to fire. It feels well balanced in my hand.UMAREX thought this little hand pistol out really well. Simple effective and nice looking. My only hope now is that it last more than a year. Most of these BB gun pistols don’t last me that long before seals and such start going bad inside. Time will tell. I figure at this price I can’t go wrong. I can so far recommend this. -James T.

11. Umarex XBG .177 Caliber BB

Umarex XBG .177 Caliber BB

Highlight: Compact, lightweight, and budget-friendly, the Umarex XBG .177 BB pistol delivers reliable CO2-powered performance for everyday plinking.

Constructive Review: I had not used an air gun since I was a kid and my grandfather had a Daisy BB gun he would let me shoot in the backyard and I’d make my own targets on blank paper, creating my own imaginary enemies to defeat. I always enjoyed going there to shoot that gun and it’s a fond memory from my childhood. I don’t know why I decided to purchase an air gun now in my mid-20’s, but let me say I was blown away with what I got for my money with this particular Air Pistol.

The Umarex XBG has gone above and beyond my expectations since purchasing it over a month ago and using it almost daily. It has a realistic look to it and can easily be mistaken for a real gun if it is dark or if you’re not close enough to see the detail. I’ve actually had friends who thought it was real as I held it in my hand and showed it to them, obviously these aren’t exactly people with much if any firearm training but still, the point is it LOOKS nice.

As for how it shoots, I have not been disappointed at all. It is pretty accurate, and shoots somewhere around 400 fps. It can easily injure someone or worse if not used carefully. I’ve been shot with it in the small of the back on a near-empty CO2 cartridge and it hurt bad enough I fell to my knees and had to clench my teeth in pain (though I was shot from no more than 3 feet away). I would suggest getting some extra magazines for this gun if you decide to buy it. It is not time-consuming to load by any means, but it does cut back on reloading time significantly with an extra pair of metal magazines (which can be bought either here on Amazon or at your local Wal-Mart).

I love the fact that there is a button to release the magazine and the location of the safety is perfectly placed for a right-handed person to easily change on and off using your trigger finger. My ONLY complaint after a month of near daily use of this gun is the trigger pull. I wouldn’t say that it’s HARD to pull the trigger, but the gun would be more accurate if the trigger pull were a little more loose. Every time I shoot it I have to pull it back to a point where more exertion is needed to actually FIRE the gun and this can occasionally cause my hand to move slightly. This is only a problem when firing it one-handed however, so considering most of the time I use both hands it doesn’t become a problem.

Overall I would say DEFINITELY buy this gun if you are looking for a cheap but reliable and exciting air pistol. There are some other air pistols on Amazon and other sites that go for between $10-$40 more than the Umarex XBG and really have no noticeable extra improvements, often just bigger names. I’d recommend this for just about anyone who enjoys air guns and wants something cheap that shoots like a gun that shoots like a gun 2 to 3 times its price. -Mathew T. Hair

Trending Review: Seems like a sturdy little shooter. It has decent weight, and is pretty accurate for non adjustable sights. Fits really well in my hands. Ive put about 100 or so BB’s through it so far, and its great fun, especially for the price! I originally got this to plink at some stray cats that keep spraying on our stuff around the house (which prompts my cat to spray INSIDE the house). Now, before everyone gets up in arms, this was before I realized the power that this thing packs. Back when I was younger, the cheaper plinkers would leave a welt, and I have used them to discourage all sorts of pesky critters, from coons, to cats, to dogs. We used to have BB gun wars as a kid with these things, and the worst any of us got hurt was taking one to the privates. Things have changed a bit from my younger days it seems. This will easily embed a BB into soft wood at 30+ feet, so definitely not something I would recommend using as a non-lethal deterrent. So back to my original plan of using cage traps and a bit of water, which my wife and kids veto’d for “being too cruel to the poor kittys”

The only thing I would change is the trigger pull. It would be nice to have an adjustable or just a lighter trigger. You have to put a fair amount of pull into the trigger, which really makes it hard to squeeze. One of the great things about BB guns, is with the proper backing, shooting in the back yard of a neighborhood isnt an issue, so is great for some fire safety for the kids. My youngest has a bit of an issue with the pull weigh, which really throws off her aim. But thats alright. We hit the range often enough that I’m not worried about her picking up bad habits from shooting the BB gun… and for the price, I really can not complain. -James Roberts

Reassuring Review: I bought 3 additional mags for this, shot each mag about 6 times (114 bb’s each) and I have not had any jams to date. I decided to add some dry graphite lube to the magazine slides, and it is much easier to load bb’s. Since I have not had any issues with feed, I still cannot comment if this helps.

Update: I have put about 20 mags worth of bb’s through this and still do not have jam or misfeed issues. Again, the only time a BB gets loose is if you eject the mag with bb’s still in it, but I don’t see how it gets stuck.

The Umarex XBG is a fantastic feeling CO2 bb Pistol. It is entirely made of VERY high quality plastic and feels great in the hand.
Other reviews state they have issues with the magazine jamming up the pistol, but after shooting about 6 magazines worth I have not had any issues.

A common complaint around this pistol is the fact that if you eject the magazine while there is still bb’s in it, a bb always falls out. I think this is just how the feed works and does the same on the Crosman C11 and Wildcat pistols.

No, the Crosman magazines will not work in this pistol, but the Umarex one is so much better quality built.

Overall, it’s a great CO2 pistol and I have a lot of fun with it. -Gilly
