1. Gamo Swarm Magnum 10X GEN3i Inertia

Highlight: Delivers up to 1,650 fps with a 10-shot rotary magazine—making the Gamo Swarm Magnum 10X GEN3i Inertia one of the most powerful and fastest follow-up air rifles of 2025.
Constructive Review: This is a powerful air rifle, probably too powerful for what I need, but my last air rifle was 40 years ago & things have come a long way in the mean time! On reflection I should’ve bought the less powerful Swarm Whisper, but like I said I wasn’t aware of how far these Nitro Piston rifles have come….not that I’m complaining!
It handles well, seems robust, trigger is usable (hopefully it improves with use) & yeah, powerful! It is noisier than I expected, but this thing throws pellets HARD. I’m still zeroing in the scope, but accuracy certainly seems to be there with GAMO Red Top pellets.
The scope is cheap & basic, but it works fine, being nice & clear, bright, holds zero & has a good zoom range. I see no need to replace it so it’s staying on there.
I have to say that I’ll probably add the Whisper version, too, as I’m using it for rodent control & for smaller vermin like rats that’d be better, with the Swarm Magnum in 22 cal being best for longer ranges & bigger sized targets. But I’m keeping this one, oh yeah I’m impressed. -M. I. Stollov
Trending Review: The scope needs to be sited in. Once that was completed I found the rifle to be very accurate at 30 yards. Our property has been over run with squirrels and they are damaging our home and property. The rifle has enough power to drop a squirrel in a single shot so they don’t suffer. My friend has the gen 2 version and the gen 3 is much more powerful. -Eric
Reassuring Review: The packaging is not intended for today’s “Ace Ventura” delivery people. The box was intact, but it had been banged around enough to bust the plastic wrap and styrofoam buffers. Fortunately the rifle was ok. Once cleaned, inspected and the scope mounted the product functioned fine. I don’t care for the low end scope, it will be tossed as soon as a better airgun rated scope is selected. Do your homework. It’s one of the best factory air rifles on the market today. This one got to respectable 1/2″ groups with factory pellets @ 25 yards in 6 shots. Every rifle is different and with the right pellet it will get a 5 shot, 1 hole group at 25 yards. BE WARNED! THIS IS NOT A TOY!!! This is a great, but serious tool for entering and enjoying precision airgun sports or pest (raccoon or armadillo) control. The cocking effort is enough to reinforce that fact. It may be the only air rifle you ever need and will be money very well spent. -Jerry Cox
2. Gamo Swarm Magnum 10X GEN3i Multi-Shot Air Rifle

Highlight: Delivers blistering power up to 1,650 fps with a 10-shot rapid-fire magazine for unmatched speed and performance.
Constructive Review: After two years of use and abuse this thing is a beast. The newer gen 3 s are fine, not much difference in power or feel than the original. With the right ammo they can break the sound barrier creating a sound compared to a rim fire .22 lr. This may be a positive or negative depending on your desired use. The 10 round pellet clip is very useful. Makes single load break barrel shooting seem like a Hassel. I recommend ordering extra clips for loading up shots ahead of time and also, if you happen to lose your clip, you can’t easily fire the air rifle. So extra ahead of time highly advised.
Power is great. I hit a one liter sprite bottle at a little over a hundred yards, checked with range finder. Took a dozen tries, but I got it. The scope is very good at this price point. I upgraded mine with another one I already had, but the gamo scope is great. One more advantage of the older model gammo magnum is that it has iron sights or open sights that you can use with or without the scope. New ones don’t have them or a place to mount them. Just saying. Sometimes the original is better than the upgrades. This item very highly recommended. The .177 is the one I shoot and prefer. It’s a faster shot, cheaper ammo, and comparably similar in damage on impact. The 22 version is awesome, a slower shot, but plenty of power. I just prefer the faster flying ammo. -Methew
Trending Review: THERE IS A WAY TO COCK THE GAMO SWARM MAGNUM without hurting yourself. I love Gamo break Barrel rifles and as a matter of fact have four of them. I’m 77 years old and had lower back surgery and three weeks ago had a right hip replacement due to a bad horse accident. My magnum arrived soon after my hip replacement. Unless you are as strong as a Neanderthal cocking the magnum as shown in the users manual is laughable. there is a way however and I did it 25 times without hurting myself. Place the Magnum sideways to you on a solid surface and place both hands on the barrel as high as possible but not on the front fiber optic sight and cover. Push down with both hands using your upper body weight to assist. Allow the bottom half of the Magnum to rock away from center vertical as you push down as it helps the cocking process. It works.
If you are on ground or in the woods use a round motorcycle kickstand pad. It gives the support you need to cock the Magnum and keeps the stock from sliding off the pad and getting dirty.I use a 6.5″ diamator pad that fits nicely into my shooting day kit but you may want to use a larger one say 8.5″. Just go on Amazon and you can buy them for $10.00.
I hope this has been a help to all you Gamo Beak Barrel lovers like myself. -Gray H
Reassuring Review: I was impressed with the power this airgun puts out. The rotary magazine works very well allowing you to get shots out pretty quickly. That said there are some things I didn’t like. The scope is not great you will probably be better off swapping it out right out of the box. It started jamming pellets in barrel after about 200 shots so you will need a cleaning rod that fits. Buy a second one to dislodge pellets, lol. And just go ahead and cut it to just over the barrel length so that you do not damage the loading mechanism when slamming the pellet out. I had to replace the autoloader on mine called gamo no questions asked and they sent out a replacement part free of charge within 4 days it arrived that was worth a 5 star rating to me right there. The rifle slings different grain pellets dramatically differently so you will need to pick one and go with it. The steel tip hornet pellets seemed to dig into the rotary mag case and cause it to jam/fail to rotate. Overall id recommend it I would probably buy the 22 the 177 seems to just blow right through squirrels and not dissipate the high velocity energy. -Anna
3. Gamo Whisper Fusion Mach 1 Air Rifle

Highlight: Gamo Whisper Fusion Mach 1 delivers quiet power with up to 1,420 fps velocity, making it one of the most accurate and stealthy break-barrel air rifles in 2025.
Constructive Review: Perfect for hunting and plinking alike. The first thing that I’ll note is this is my first gamo anything of any kind and I’ll say I’m impressed.
The .22 version is what I purchased, and it does really well with at least 15.4 grain pellets, Anything smaller and they spiral out. The gamo tomahawk works great, the best yet is the h&n barracuda hunter extreme, I’ve literally shot the tacks off my paper at 35 yards.
The scope is OK, no real issues other than ignorance on my part. Once I learned how to use the scope instead of blaming it…seems fine for a cheap scope. Have patience and stop blaming the gun/scope. Blue loctite on the hardware and it has held dead center ever since.
This is my first Gamo, first scoped air rifle. My biggest takeaway after 3 months is just how crazy accurate this thing is. Took me about a week to figure out with the amount of power output this gas piston has, a heavier pellet shoots more consistent. Should be common sense, right? Crossman premier hollowpoints literally spiral out, 2 of 10 rounds would land on the target. My frustration deepened into talking myself into thinking the scope was at fault. Alas, after shooting consistently and getting to know the rifle, I can literally drive tacks with it.
It’s loud at first, but does quiet down a good amount after about 100 rounds or so. Definitely back yard friendly. Not heavy by any means, comfortable to hold and carry. The stock and plastic shrouded barrel are confidence inspiring in the woods. I’ve dropped it a couple times and used it in the rain as well. The trigger is OK, not my favorite. Watch a video on how to adjust it, that’ll help considerably.
I got this air rifle for plinking, pest control and hunting (in that order) and I am happy with it. It’s not for children, some may find it hard to cock.
I was between this and the swarm bone collector…when this gun appeared on Amazon for $189 so I snagged it last second. Knowing what I like and what I paid, I’d buy it again on the basis that it’s met and/or exceeded all my realistic expectations. With that said, I’ll probably try a swarm series at this point. -Justin
Trending Review: I didn’t think this rifle would meet my expectations but it did. It’s powerful and accurate. I’m consistently hitting soup cans at 45 yds. with the scope. I bought this model because it had iron sight too. They are great and the scope is fine. It’s a little difficult to cock but I’m 70 yrs old. It’s 46 inches long but not heavy so my 11 yr old grandson can handle it. I would not let a child use this gun without adult supervision. My only complaint is that the instructions that came with it are written so small that you need magnifying glass and they are a little vague. Not sure if you can really adjust the amount of pressure to pull the trigger but you can adjust the length of travel in the trigger. I may be wrong but the instructions aren’t clear on how to adjust the weight of trigger pull. I was hesitant to buy this pellet gun but now I’m glad I got one. -Happydan
Reassuring Review: Amazed at accuracy. After adjusting the fixed sights was printing sub 1/8 groups @ 20 yds. Moved to 40 yards with fixed sights and was printing 1/4 inch max groups. Mounted the scope fired a couple times, did really minor windage adjustments and did minor to moderate adjustments for elevation. I can’t believe how accurate this one is, at 40 yards was printing sub 1/2 groups. Cocking takes more effort than most. Reminds me of my old Beeman R1 in effort. Most historical reviews said scope was junk, not so in my case. Pellets hit right near hole in hole on crosshair center. Time will tell on scope quality and lifespan. This one must have been made on a good day at the factory with happy workers LOL. I may purchase another one in 177 after some age sets in on this one. -Alan L
4. Gamo Viper Express 0.22 Caliber Breakbarrel Air Rifle

Highlight: A versatile powerhouse that shoots both pellets and shot shells for unmatched hunting flexibility.
Constructive Review: Excellent rat gun. Bought this to deal with mice rats in my basement. Puts them down in one shot every time with the shotshells. I bought aftermarket reloadable shells I load them with number 9 and number 12 birdshot. Very effective on mice and rats within 10 to 15 feet. Doesn’t over penetrate so safe to shoot indoors unlike some of my other pellet rifles which would go right through the rat and into my walls. Great for use in tight spaces or urban setting’s where a traditional firearm or even a high powered pellet gun is not an option. Very happy with my purchase. I have taken several mice and rats with the shotshells. Along with a few squirrels with the .22 pellets. Great for yellowjackets and carpenter bees aswell when reloaded with number 12 shot. -James
Trending Review: Love it! Great value for such a powerful air shotgun! Highly recommend. I purchased for personal/home self defense. I don’t own real firearms, but I pity the fool that challenges this air shotgun. They will be in an ambulance ride to the hospital before they know what hit them! -Tim Garrett
Reassuring Review: This is a great airgun for pest killing. I use it mostly for Carpenter Bees. We get over run on our deck with them every Spring. It is reloadable and you can use the Gamo plastic shells that are #9 shot or check out the CNC aluminum shells from Ray-Vin and their extras for the Gamo. To reload with ease I use 5.5mm cardboard round punched holes and I pictured the measure I used for the shot and from 22 long and short cartridges. They are really great. I like to use #12 shot for the bees and I also use bird seed when I need to use it in areas I don’t want lead shot hitting. Bird seed will kill a Carpenter Bee but it only travels about 7 feet so you have to get close. The lead shot travels much father about 20-30 feet depending on the shot used #8 and #9 will kill small game. This is the next step up if you have a Bug-A-Salt gun, but need something much more powerful. If you ever shot a Carpenter Bee with a Bug-A Salt you know it doesn’t even phase them but its awesome for flies and using inside . This will destroy the Bee. Now for the Bee lovers of the world I do know that Carpenter Bees are good pollinators so I only kill the ones annoying me on my deck and recommend others do the same as the are good for the environment. -Paul M. Seymour
5. Barra TPR 1200 and 1300 Air Rifle

Highlight: Powerful break-barrel air rifles built for accuracy, durability, and high-velocity performance in hunting and target shooting.
Constructive Review: Absolutely a great rifle. Scope is ok. I upgraded to a different scope for pest control. Can’t miss now…..
Had a small problem with the rifle at first but customer care was above and beyond awesome!
Plenty of power, very consistent.
Absolutely recommend to anyone.
Take it from a Marine. Nice weapon. -Patrick Lapolla
Trending Review: I love, love, love this break barrel pellet gun! My brother recommended it to me. It is very high powered and was was easy to sight in. It’s a little difficult for me to break the barrel to load the pellet. I’m a 67 year old female and don’t have good upper arm strength anymore. Gosh, I hate to admit that! lol! I have to set the stock on the ground, holding it between my knees to break the barrel down, so that I can load it. Anyone much younger probably wouldn’t have any problem. I did have a great experience with their customer service. The first pellet gun I purchased had something wrong with the scope. I couldn’t get it sighted in. I finally figured out that the front lense in the sight had become crooked and loose. I requested a replacement and before I could box it up and get it to an Amazon return center, they had already shipped another one, to me! I would highly recommend this Barra Pellet gun, if you’re looking for something accurate and high powered! -Rondie
Reassuring Review: We have been a big fan of Pellet, BB, and Airsoft guns as of late, because they are fun to shoot, safer for younger children and ammunition is dirt cheap. This rifle was a good find and is going to be a great addition to our collection. It arrived earlier in the week and today, being Saturday, was the first time my two boys I and I were able to take it out to break it in (they have been so excited about it all week and have not stopped bugging me about shooting it).
Our first impression has been a good one. The gun itself looks legit and was very fun to shoot. I really like the Camo/Black coloring and the attention to detail (Bolt action lever; it’s just for show, but adds to the look). It didn’t take us long to sight in the scope at about 25 yrds and start slaying Zombies (the free Zombie targets were a nice touch and added to the experience). At 1200 FPS this thing really packs a punch. It could easily kill birds, squirrels and other small rodents, so keep an eye on those kids.
This gun has a spring piston, with a pull down barrel to cock (it was a little hard for my 10 year old to cock, but not much of a problem for my 12 year old), similar to the Black Ops Tactical Sniper, which we also own and love. The thing I really liked about this one however, is that it is a little bit smaller/lighter, which made it a lot easier to transport and shoot from a standing position. For quick outings I could see us using this one more often and would highly recommend it for anyone that enjoys shooting. -David B
6. Gamo 6110017154 Varmint Air Rifle

Highlight: Delivers up to 1,250 fps with precision and power, perfect for small game hunting and target shooting.
Constructive Review: Nice and accurate. Powerful and fun.
I tried the ‘count the number of clicks and go to the middle’ on the scope and shoot at the target. Nope. No hits on the target.
That’s not the way to dial it in, for my scope, anyway.
Got a giant piece of cardboard, painted a botch in the center, found where I was hitting, and quickly dialed it in.
Nice varmint air rifle. -Christopher D. McMillan
Trending Review: The scope is a little “fuzzy”, but after sighting it in the rifle is very accurate. Nailed the first squirrel I shot at (they are constantly eating our suet for the woodpeckers.). I did order another scope, I would definitely recommend this pellet gun! -William Lawrence
Reassuring Review: I got this a couple of years back, but we were about to move and it went into storage. Finally got to sight it in today, and it was pretty simple, taking about 10-15 minutes. I set a target at around 30 yards.
The first test shots were high and a bit right. That required the adjusters to be turned to the LEFT and DOWN (I say this because I did it wrong the first time!). It’s a real trial-and-error approach. It’s a cheap scope, so no fancy help to make sighting easier. So shoot, adjust, shoot, adjust. There’s a lot of turn in these adjusters, so don’t be afraid to get “twisting by the pool!” Just be sure you have a good place to rest the gun while sighting so you get consistency. I put some outdoor cushions on top of my garbage bin, and that worked well, even though it was very low tech.
Once I sighted it in, I was getting a 1.5-2″ grouping at 30 yards. I had a paper target on a 3.4″ piece of plywood. This gun punched those slugs into the ply with the tail of the pellet countersunk about 1/32″, so this gun has serious power. It’s a bit heavy, but the biggest drawback for smaller people (kids especially) is the break action requires reasonable force. I’m 5′ 8″, a80lbs and it’s no issue for me, but I imagine smaller people/kids may struggle a little. And that’s why it hits hard. -Myrna S.
