1. Safariland Open Top Double Handgun Magazine Pouch

Safariland Open Top Double Handgun Magazine Pouch

Highlight: The Safariland Open Top Double Handgun Magazine Pouch stands out for its smooth, no-flap design that keeps your mags secure yet instantly accessible when every second counts.

Supportive Review: I am very happy with this mag holder. First off, it’s Safariland so you know its good quality but the best part is how much smaller it is that my previous mag holders, it really helps to free up space on my belt. The position of the magazines is great too, easy to grab and reload. Mags stay secure with enough tension that I am not worried about them falling out accidentally while at the same time easy enough to draw smoothly for reloads. Can’t beat the price on amazon either, great value. -Eric

Trending Review: I have been using Safarilands dual magazine pouch for a few months now and am a big fan. My line of work can take a toll on any product that stands in its way but this magazine pouch is a solid addition for my field tested gear. Foot pursuits, street fights, and plenty of hours typing reports or driving around have put this magazine pouch through its paces.

It feels lighter than the closed pouches I’ve used previously. It’s a hard plastic mold, with a smooth leather like lining for ease of magazine extraction or insertion. The exterior has a grainy look to it, with a soft sheen similar to leather. It’s resistant to scratches, scuffs, and daily abuse. Easy to clean. It holds the magazines firmly in place with a single retention screw that is adjustable depending on your preferred level of resistance. Overall I am a happy customer and will continue to use Safarilands Dual Magazine Slimline Pouch. -Ryan C

2. BLACKHAWK Double Mag Pouch

BLACKHAWK Double Mag Pouch

Highlight: The BLACKHAWK Double Mag Pouch stands out for its rock-solid retention and smooth, no-fumble access, which feel effortlessly reliable in real-world use.

Supportive Review: It fits a 1.5″ belt perfectly. The holster has two fixed slots on the sides to slide a belt through and one clip in the middle you can use to slide onto a worn belt. The slots are just over 1.5″, 1 5/8″ to be exact, but you wouldn’t want to use a belt bigger than 1.5″. The clip on the back is adjustable so you can make it fit a 1″ belt snugly without flopping up when you pull a magazine out.

However, it’s just one clip in the middle so it isn’t ideal. I opted to remove the entire clip component which is easily done by removing two screws and popping out the rivets from the main component.
It fits my double stack magazines for the Springfield XDM .40 without any problems and with that adjustable screw tension it fits exactly the way I want it. You can adjust it to suit your needs so if you’re at a competition, keep it kind of loose, but if you opt to conceal carry you can tighten it some more. It is kind of big for CC in my opinion but I guess in the winter it would work fine.

The plastic feels very sturdy and feels like it will last for a long time. The insides are smooth so magazines slide in and out very smoothly. It did the job so well I ordered another one so I can have two holsters that are the same. -Jay Wanders Out

Trending Review: I have used open top mag holsters/pouches since I began shooting many moons ago. For whatever reason, I had never tried a BLACKHAWK. Well folks its the real deal.

The plastic clip is adjustable to many different belt sizes and a standard duty belt will go through the belt loop slots. I have used this on a duty belt and for concealed carry. It has provided secure retention along with a quick draw.

The holster is slightly curved allowing you to index your finger along the front of the rear mag. It is a great design that functions perfectly.

The only caveat I have found with this item is the clip is made with very thin plastic. If it is over bent outwardly, it is not likely to return “home” as it should. To be honest, it doesn’t really matter because of the built in belt loops but it may annoy some.

I am certain I will order more of this item, if not for myself, for others that need it. -Mike O.

3. Kydex Magazine Holder

Kydex Magazine Holder

Highlight: The Kydex Magazine Holder stands out for its rock-solid retention and smooth, snag-free draw, which feels reliable every time you gear up.

Supportive Review: Excellent little magazine holster for the price. Double stack 9mm/40sw. Works with multiple magazines and brands I have tried. Will not work with single stack magazines. Has a screw to adjust tension, adjustable cant and adjustable belt size. Pictured with p226 magazines. Works great, durability yet to tested but range day tomorrow, will update if any issues. -Dominic

Trending Review: The Forcenter OWB Double Kydex Magazine Pouch is great. The kydex is nice and very well made. The fit is great for double stack magazines, though i’m sure it would also work with single stack as well due to the design, however it may not be as sturdy..

The adjustable magazine retention is great, first mag pouch i’ve used that has this type of mechanism. It works well and pushes against the narrow part of the magazine. Very easy to adjust, just need the included allen key. The cant is also highly adjustable with a phillips head screwdriver. The quick detach mechanism it also very nice, I like that I can take it on and off easily, no tools needed. You can also adjust the width to fit your belt so it stays in place.

Overall i’m very impressed with this mag pouch. It’s constructed well, and allows me to quickly reload without worrying about my mags falling out when running. The only downside is that it didn’t come with instructions, however I was able to figure it out fairly quickly. -Recreate

4. CYTAC Double Magazine Pouch

CYTAC Double Magazine Pouch

Highlight: The CYTAC Double Magazine Pouch stands out with its smooth, secure retention system that keeps your mags locked in place yet instantly ready when you need them most.

Supportive Review: Works great, it holds my 2 20 round mags in place well and is comertable. Doesn’t fit on the cytac dropleg with is a bit disappointing but is comertable on my belt. It is a little difficult to put on or take off but does break in a little. All in all great value and would buy again. -JORDAN KLASEN

Trending Review: Smart concept. I have a bunch of leather products, and I have always wondered why someone didn’t design something with a little flexibility to fit more than just one specific size.

This pouch worked well with a variety of double stack mags, including Glock, Canik, S&W.

Adjusted to the smallest setting, single stack mags wobble around but surprisingly did not fall out (tested with my single-stack Beretta M9 (in 22LR) mags).

The adjustability allows you to set the tension like some other traditional leather pouches. However, this product uses three tension screws that you can turn by hand without trying to find an Allen wrench.

Retention inside the pouch relies on a half-moon style bump; I like the feel.

The paddle holds very well—the body-facing side of the paddle is lined with a grippy rubber texture, which seems like a premium feature compared to my other paddle back holsters and pouches.

And overall, the price is very fair for the quality and much more affordable than many of the brand name alternatives. -James Papeika

5. Bedone Double Magazine Holder

Bedone Double Magazine Holder

Highlight: The Bedone Double Magazine Holder stands out for its smooth, snag-free draw and rock-solid retention, giving you reliable access when every second counts.

Supportive Review: Finally! A universal magazine holder that fits my Hellcat, S & W Shield and Walther PDP F magazines! Just a quick turn of the center screw and everything fit snugly but not too tight. I even shook my mags upside down in the holder and they did not fall out. Well made and great value. -Chloe Dornaus

Trending Review: I bought this holder while working and using my S&W m&p .40 and it worked great. I left that company and worked for a different company who issued the Glock 19 and the 9mm. I have since left the 2nd company and returned to the 1st company and I will be trading in my S&W for something different and the options have the double stack magazines and will work with this holder.

With both being double stack magazines, this holder worked PERFECTLY. When I started with company 2, the officers noticed my holder and many asked where I got it because the issued piece of crap cheap holder the company provided had numerous cons. By the time I left that company, 6 officers that I know of switched to this holder and love it!!! -Wade A Reidt

6. TAFTACFR Molded Double Mag Pouch Holster

TAFTACFR Molded Double Mag Pouch Holster

Highlight: The Bedone TAFTACFR molded double mag pouch stands out for its rock-solid retention and smooth, no-fuss access that feels reliable every time you gear up.

Supportive Review: I pray I will never have to retrieve the contents of this holster, but it and my Glock 43 go everywhere I do. This holster is extremely well-built, and will probably outlast me. It has snaps instead of velcro, and I find myself re-snapping the rear compartment a lot – it seems to catch on the seat belt when I get out of the car. Small price to pay. I think I prefer the snaps to velcro – the jury is still out. -Loren M Rhodes

Trending Review: It fits my magazines perfectly snug. I recommend stretching out the holder with magazine for quicker reload. It was a bit too tight to pull out the magazine but after I moved the mag around inside pouch it stretched it out so I can pull them out faster for quik reload. Good buy. -Silvie Garcia

7. Universal Double Magazine Holster

Universal Double Magazine Holster

Highlight: The Universal Double Magazine Holster stands out for its reliable fit and smooth, secure access, making every reload feel effortless and confidence-boosting.

Supportive Review: I bought this to replace the aging velcro style mag holder on my molle vest, a style I never cared for much anyway. This works great and only took a minor 1/4 turn of the adjustment screw to create a nice, tight retention. When you put the mags in, it doesn’t just rely on tension alone either, you hear and feel a solid “click” to let you know the magazines are locked into place. I just started using this so I cannot comment on longevity, but I am very happy so far. -Todd Osborne

Trending Review: I’ve been using this mag holder for 3 years now, and it works as good as the day I got it! Picked up a second one now so I can leave one set on my vest, and the other for my belt. Fits most pistol magazines except for small .380s down to .22s, especially single stacked small calibers.
Single stack 9mm to double stack .45 ACP all fit with ease and snuggly so you don’t have to worry about them falling out. Can’t say anything for the .50AE though, don’t own one, but by looking at the cartridge, I’m not so sure it would fit well.
Good CQC molle and civilian 2x magazine holster. -Theodore Pollock

8. Bedone Universal Double Magazine Holster

Bedone Universal Double Magazine Holster

Highlight: The Bedone Universal Double Magazine Holster stands out for its smooth, adjustable fit that keeps your mags secure and ready without adding any bulk to your carry.

Supportive Review: Needed a mag holster for my glock mags. I picked this unit, and I am very pleased with it so far. Its a pretty simple design, mags fit well into holster and are retained securely and are also easy to remove. You can adjust the angle of the mags default is vertical to a about 55 degrees and also change the size of the belt latch, looks like max size is around 2 1/2 inches (with the adjuster bar removed and the adjuster will decrease down to around 1 1/2in . Where the belt goes, there is a little retention arm to keep the holster secure.
I would definitely buy again, and probably will. Ryan

Trending Review: Tried it on right away after I received the Double Magazine Pouch, Dual Stack Mag Holster with Adjustable Paddle, Universal 9mm. It fits on my belt perfect and rides very well. I tried two loaded 9 mm mags in it and they fit perfectly without being too tight and without any looseness. I realize the mag holders are supposed to also accommodate 40 cal. but since I don’t own any 40 cal. pistols, I can only judge by the very good fit of my larger capacity mags and I can tell that 40 cal.

Mags would fit though it may be pretty snug but that’s not usually a problem. The mag holders fit 4 of my 9 mil mags exceptionally well (2 Walther’s, a CZ and a Sig P320 all compacts). The only one that was a little loose but still fit, was my IWI Jericho 941 full size, full steel, 9mm which I don’t carry much due to it’s size and weight. It’s mag is a little narrower due to it’s length. Overall the double mag holder’s design, construction and it’s material that it’s made from is excellent and very comfortable. A great buy at the price online! I am more than satisfied! -James

9. Universal Double Magazine Pouch

Universal Double Magazine Pouch

Highlight: Holds two magazines securely while keeping them easily accessible for fast, hassle-free reloads.

Supportive Review: Fits Glock double stack mags perfect. Standard mag holder really, with tension screw in between the mags to adjust tension as desired. I selected the paddle style because where I work I have to enter multiple buildings a day where you cannot carry a firearm so, like my firearm holster, I prefer a paddle style as I can easily remove them and put them back on without fiddling with my belt.

I rides nice and close to the body. I was shocked by a few of the 1 star reviews, one stating that the tensioning screws will dent your mags. For others reading the reviews, those are not tensioning screws, they are simply extra screws that attach the belt clip or the paddle to the mag holder, which is a nice touch.

I’m not sure what the two holes in the face of each mag holder are for but I just checked and sure enough, with a little force you can get those two screws to thread in there. Please don’t do that. There was also one with a pic that said it didn’t fit his single stack mag at all no matter how much he tightened down on the tension screw. Please read the description, it clearly states it’s for a double stack mag. -Smith Farms

Trending Review: This pouch is durable and good for duty carry as well as OWB carry with a pant belt. I have purchased them for a Gen 4 Glock .40, A Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 .40, An FN Reflex 9mm and a SAR Tactical 9mm. The universal pouch fit all four of my handgun’s ammo magazines right out of the box. For duty carry, I recommend tightening the retention a bit more than the factory setting. I’ve had no issues with duty carry in a wide variety of hostile environments with absolutely no performance issues and daily off duty carry as well. -Richard

10. OWB Polymer Double Magazine Holster

OWB Polymer Double Magazine Holster

Supportive Review: I was in the market for a reliable and versatile double magazine pouch for both range use and occasional everyday carry, and this MAXXPRO OWB Polymer Double Magazine Holster has exceeded my expectations.

First off, the compatibility is outstanding. I’ve tested it with magazines from my Glock 19, Sig Sauer P320, and even a Springfield XD-M, and they all fit securely and consistently. The adjustable retention screw is a brilliant feature, allowing me to fine-tune the tension for a perfect draw, whether I want a tighter hold for active use or a slightly smoother pull for faster reloads. The ambidextrous design is also a huge plus, making it adaptable for left or right-handed users, or even different carry preferences.

The OWB (Outside the Waistband) design with the strong belt clip keeps the pouch stable and secure on my belt, even during movement. I appreciate that it rides comfortably and allows for quick, intuitive reloads.

This MAXXPRO carrier offers excellent value, robust construction, and practical versatility for both training and practical use. Highly recommend! -Ashley Williams

Supportive Review: These mag pouches are design perfection. Light, simple, sturdy, strong, comfortable, accomodating up to 2″ belts, with ideal retention pressure for drawing and reholstering. Unlike most other pouches–thick, cumbersome stiff, heavy, uncomfortable and more costly–these must have been designed and made by people who actually use them to shoot. Only wish I’d learned of them 20 years ago. All the other pouches accumulated over those years of looking for something like these ave gone to the dump or recycling. Can’t speak highly enough about these new ones. -Sarge

Trending Review: I bought the multicam variant of this as a cheap Esstac alternative and they have really delivered. They hold airsoft MP5 and green gas pistol magazines amazingly. I have crawled around on, ran into objects with, laid down on these pouches and have had no visible or performance issues with them. They are very secure and removing a magazine doesn’t take too much effort. They sit well on my belt and as long as you use your MOLLE in a smart way, when you remove a mag the pouches shouldn’t slide up. I cant recommend these enough for the price. I just wish they offered a mulitcam version with a rifle mag. -Roman
