1. Otis Elite Gun Cleaning Kit

Otis Elite Gun Cleaning Kit

Highlight: Cleans all firearms with 60+ tools in a compact, rugged case.

Constructive Review: This is a great product. I hate cleaning my guns. On top of that I have so many odd ball setups that it could be difficult to get what I need. I have tried the bore snakes and I like them for ease of use and I still take them to the range when I know I am going to go though 300-800 rounds, just in case it needs cleaned out a little, but I don’t know how clean it gets them for a good cleaning. I also keep the bore snakes around because they are much easier and effective then cotton patches.

This kit will do much of what I need to do. Most of my guns (shotguns, rifle, and pistols are covered. If they were not covers the nice thing is the threads are a common size so I can buy and use others. The brushes that are supplied are high quality and have not have any problems with bending like other brands, part of this is probably because they are pulled not pushed on a regular basis, but they do seem to be built a little stronger. I can put the brushes that I need in the smaller included case and take just what I need to the range. It has extra tools which are helpful especially for semi autos.

I know I can hear the people terrified of change “but what about a rod, I have to have a rod otherwise my gun won’t be clean, the rod that isn’t supposed to touch the barrel and makes it magically cleaner than anything else every could!!!!” You can still buy this kit people and if you need your magic cleaning wand you can still use the brushes that come with kit and put on a rod and feel better about it.

If I am going to knock this kit over anything it would be the nylon case if comes in. It appears that the nylon otis buys is the same price as gold because is case is grossly undersized from the get go. But I didn’t buy it for the nylon case and I have my kit in a tackle box now which is much better, not to mention more versatile. -IN Dave

Trending Review: I had debated for several months about whether I wanted to give the Otis kit(s) a try. However the fact that I have recently acquired several rifles that can’t be cleaned easily from the breech using a conventional rod, combined with the $15 rebate, convinced me to go ahead and pull the trigger.

I love the kit itself. I’ve been shooting for over 39 years, and my cleaning supplies have become a hodge-podge of accumulated parts. Still and all, I never seemed to have exactly what I needed when I needed it. That’s all solved by the Otis Elite – it has just about everything!

Sure, there are some things I don’t need right this minute, like a 28 gauge shotgun brush, but if and when I do need it, I have it. I like the cable concept, and after I was able to clean my Colt M4-.22 carbine from the breech using the included special short .22 brush, I was convinced.

The only thing I don’t like – and I’m not even deducting a star for it – is the nylon kit-bag. They tried to design it well, but it’s awkward and difficult to use. Frankly, being that this kit is kind of tailored toward an armorer, I fail to see the need for having a soft kit bag to carry into the field. I decided to abandon the bag and consolidate all my supplies into one container, and a three-tray Plano tacklebox worked perfectly. See my pictures I’ve uploaded above for how I arranged things.

Oh – and the icing on the cake – the Otis kit is made in the United States. -Daniel Burke

Reassuring Review: Was hesitant on the price, but trusted the reviews and bought it. There is a ton of stuff in this kit that not readily apparent in the description. This thing will clean everything from my .177 air rifles to a 12 gauge shot gun and every odd caliber in between. For common calibers you actually get additional brushes tucked away in the added tactical kit. What i didn’t realize was even with the cable system, it includes an obstruction removal tool. This eliminates the need to carry a cleaning rod for the odd obstruction.

A suck shell or hard obstruction may require more tools, but whats included will get 80% of obstructions out. The tubes of oil are really more of a sample size of their brand oil. I would get little containers of your own preferred cleaners to throw in the kit. The provided tubes dont seal at all once opened and will leak over the kit. There is also some drift punches and scrapers that in a pinch could be used to get a pin out. I wouldn’t recommend them for regular use but in an emergency you could get a gun apart. The carrying kit is compact and well made and fits in a range bag. -Dave

2. GLORYFIRE Elite Gun Cleaning Kit

GLORYFIRE Elite Gun Cleaning Kit

Highlight: Durable brass tools and organized case make the GLORYFIRE Elite Kit perfect for all calibers.

Constructive Review: My kit arrived just before leaving town for a while, so I didn’t get to use it right away. When I did finally open it up and get to “work” I eventually realized that it was missing the three smallest brass jags… bummer. I thought maybe my delay reporting an issue might hamper a resolution but I reached out directly to the email in a kit insert. After one more clarifying email, Gloryfire went far above and beyond to make things right and then some. I’m leaving the exact details out lest unprincipled people take advantage of Gloryfire.
Btw, I dealt with the same person throughout the resolution process, making for a smooth line of communication.

The kit itself is a great “bang” for the buck. I wish I owned all the calibers covered in the kit 🙂
The mops did shed a little on first use. The little bottles hold their contents without leaking. Overall I would highly recommend this kit from Gloryfire. -Bill MacArthur

Trending Review: After I wore out some of the brushes for gun barrel cleaning, I picked up this kit to add to my package. This package size is not small, probably not for the range use, but excellent for cleaning guns at home. What I like this kit most compared to my old popular brand of kit is that every rod thread is the same and can be fitted with the proper size of cotton or bronze brush. Couple of my old stuff only has “the end” rod will fit the brushes and they are inconvenience to use. One reason that I choose this kit is the rods are copper instead of aluminum, which I like much better.

Two models fo this kit is available, and selected the cheaper one; the difference is the cleaning pad push head is plastic instead of copper, but since I usually don’t use them, these plastic tips will last longer the copper brushes, so I paid less money for basically the same thing. It is a basic cleaning kit with most caliber handgun calibers. Rifle caliber brushes has most popular ones but surprises to see .17 .20 and .50 caliber are included. Shotgun brushes include popular 12 20 410 gauge, so it is plenty good. I only used once for handgun cleaning and found everything is working fine. How long would this kit last? I feel it is a little better than some of the other kits that I have because it fits better, and I would expect it will last a long time also. -Serena S.

Reassuring Review: I didn’t need everything in the kit, (e.g. I don’t have a shotgun) but the kit is future-proof. Full disclosure – there were some pieces missing. I emailed the seller and they made it right (and then some). I used it right away to clean my FN509, everything worked like a charm. I especially like the needle-tip bottles for oiling. Very precise, and you can use just the right amount. It took me a minute to figure out that you needed to use the brass adapters on the rods to attache the jags. It’s all great. The only thing I would suggest is that it would have an extra compartment in the case for misc items that you might want to add.. e.g. extra patches, extra brushes (if you have some already), a pick.

Overall – great kit, great seller! Very happy. -Mweish

3. iunio Universal Gun Cleaning Kit

iunio Universal Gun Cleaning Kit

Highlight: Includes a full set of premium brass rods and brushes for cleaning all types of firearms, from handguns to shotguns.

Constructive Review: I tried out the Iunio Premium Gun Cleaning Kit (Kit) after a duck hunting trip. I’m using a Browning A-5 Stalker. I don’t like to let the sun go down on a dirty gun, so I typically clean my guns immediately after use. But, for fun, I used my A-5 for about 3 days before cleaning, so it would be extra dirty for my review. Typically, I also use a foam bore cleaner to prep my barrels, but not in this case.

My initial concern was that the provided solvent and oil bottles would leak. So, I filled them up and let them sit in the case for a few days prior to actually using the case. Not a drop leaked out of either. Secondly, I was concerned about some reviews that said their rods bent. It wasn’t clear that they were talking about the brass rods in the kit, or the plastic rods in an earlier version of the Kit. Similar comments were made about the jags breaking, however, it is pretty obvious that in those cases they were talking about the earlier, plastic jags and not the brass jags in this Kit. I always look at the worst reviews on any product to see if there is a consistent problem. Those were the only 2 comments that caused me to stop and take notice. Otherwise, the comments are typically going to be from people that don’t know what they are doing or are taking personal issues out on a product. Sure, you can bend one of these rods, if your stupid or you want to bend one. However, here is my 50+ year observation from cleaning guns, and I have 10 long-guns and 8 hand-guns. If you can’t push a wire brush through a barrel and pull it back and forth while inside the barrel, you’re using too much brush. The same can be said about swabs. You’re not trying to bore out an automotive cylinder. Pushing too much of anything through a barrel will result in a fail. That’s just the way life is.

I like the copious amounts of stick swabs. One thing that I do that I’ve not found anyone else doing, is using Johnson’s Floor Wax on non-friction applications where a coating is wanted. Why? Because it won’t collect junk on the surface like oil or grease will. I’ve used it for years on wood working and shop tools to prevent rust without collecting sawdust and other bits floating around in the air. In this case, I use it to coat the surfaces between my chokes and the barrel. The stick swabs came in really handy for that. On one of my handguns, I had a tiny spot under a hammer that always looked like it wanted to rust. Oil didn’t stop it. One application of the wax into the tight spot next to the grip and I’ve not had any more problems.

I’ve always used pieces torn from T-Shirts to swab out my shotgun barrels, as I did in this case. Three passes of the wire brush (back and forth, back and forth while going through) and three passes of the cotton swab and my barrel was as clean as it would have been using the solvent foam pre-soak. That’s a win for me, because I have to be careful about getting strong solvents on my protective covering on the A-5 Stalker. What I did like about the provided pads was the mesh, non-cotton fabric. This allowed me to wipe down the outside of the gun without wasting a lot of oil in a saturated cotton pad. So, I’ll mostly be using them for the outside surfaces of my gun.

I’m “old school,” so I’ve never had a gun cleaning kit like this one. I like the way everything is laid out. I couple of the pieces, jags and rod adapters, can get loose and float around a little inside of the case. Just be aware of this when you open up the case as something could fall out. But, that’s not a big deal to me. Also, I leave a nickel or quarter inside the case for removing the chokes. I did not use the provided cotton swabs this time. Why? I forgot to and used my T-Shirt-old habits are hard to break! I do use rod swabs over and over by soaking in water and Dawn dishwashing detergent. After soaking a while, you can spray them off and they’ll clean up pretty darn good. Having said that, there’s an interesting insert inside of the case. “If you have any concerns or need any parts for your gun cleaning kit…..we’ll send free replacements immediately.” I’m not sure that covers disposable supplies, but yes, or no, that’s a great guarantee.

I don’t see any reservations you should have about buying this Kit. I certainly don’t have any. -Joeizme

Trending Review: I’ve had this kit for a few months now and I use it to clean my Glocks (9MM and .38), my tiny S&W bodyguard (.380), AR-15s (5.56) and a shotgun.

Everything is included. The jags, loops and rods are all brass and well constructed, they will last forever if you take care of it. The case it all comes in is cheap plastic but it does the job reasonably well, i did replace it with my own plastic compartments in my range bag.

The items do have the size etched into the brass, it’s small but it’s there and legible, not sure why some people are saying they are not marked, they all are.

Another reason to use this company is their amazing customer service. After two of my most used mops got “lost” at the range (don’t let people borrow your stuff!) I contacted them to buy replacements and they not only sent me a new set of mops for free, but they paid shipping. Blown away. These guys care about their customers and I hope they do well. -Dennis

Reassuring Review: I have owned firearms most of my life. Over the years I have collected bits and pieces of cleaning kits that I go through to find what I need. This kits quality and variety of caliber cleaning equipment is great. I was able to clean out that draw full of the bits and pieces and replace it with this organized kit. This would make a great gift for any firearms enthusiast.

The one outstanding thing about this product is the service I received. I had damaged an adapter through my own negligence. I texted IUNIO and requested a replacement part and expected to pay due to my negligence. Not so. My representative CANDY told me of life time garrenttee and cheerfully replaced the part for free. Great representative, great service. -Celeste Cohn

4. BOOSTEADY Gun Cleaning Kit

BOOSTEADY Gun Cleaning Kit

Highlight: Compact, durable, and packed with essentials, the BOOSTEADY Gun Cleaning Kit is perfect for quick, on-the-go firearm maintenance.

Constructive Review: This is a great cleaning kit for the money. I’ve paid more for name brand gun cleaning kits that are complete garbage compared to this cleaning it. Short of gun oil and cleaning solution, this cleaning kit includes everything you will need to clean any caliber weapon from pistols, to rifles to shotguns. The brass cleaning rod and fitting are quality. Not to say they won’t break if you try hard enough, but they are way better than the plastic pieces that come with some other cleaning kits. I’ve owned this kit for over 4 years and just picked up another one for a friend. Buy this cleaning kit with confidence. You will not be disappointed. Truman

Trending Review: I purchased this kit based on the amount of tools in it for the price, I’ll admit I was skeptical about the quality for the price but boy was I WRONG! This cleaning kit is amazing and it has great quality parts for its price! It has everything you need for cleaning all your firearms. Zero problems with any of the kit tools, every single tool has perfect tolerances and clearances. There was zero poorly constructed tools in my tool kit, everything was sturdy and tight which is what you need when running it through your firearm. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU PURCHASE! You won’t be disappointed. -Lalo Jauregui

Reassuring Review: Bought this for my fiancé and he loved it. He was excited about the tips being metal rather than the cheap plastic that is used by many other more expensive brands- like H*pps for example. He’s had many pricey kits with broken bits/tips- this one seems like wayy better quality and I paid less for it. The case is lightweight and keeps it all organized, the locks are secure so it won’t flop open. Would definitely recommend to a friend. -Kathleen Johnson

5. GLORYFIRE Gun Cleaning Kit

GLORYFIRE Gun Cleaning Kit

Highlight: Includes a full range of high-quality brass rods, brushes, and jags for cleaning all types of firearms from pistols to shotguns.

Constructive Review: Bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift and he absolutely loves it, it has “almost” any size possible for any caliber of gun. The box is a little cheap and flimsy but holds everything in place very well. The attachments are great and seem to be durable, the cleaning rodes are kinda flimsy but they work perfectly. To anyone that has multiple guns and needs a kit for all of them, this is the way to go!!! -Chiana Price

Trending Review: This kit has everything in it that I need to clean my gun and keep it in excellent working condition. I love that. It comes with many different sizes so my son can use it on his shotgun, and I can use it on my pistol. The only thing it doesn’t come with is lube. Everything fits very nicely in the case which snapshot. The components don’t move around when you carry the case around, which I love. I might be buying one of these for my nephew for Christmas.

The components come with a lifetime warranty. That adds a lot of value. -Dixie K

Reassuring Review: The cleaning tools I needed are all in this box and I don’t need to get another since it’s capable of handling multiple common calibers or berral length already. The cleaning rods are sturdy and the length is reasonable. I am also glad that it comes with a relatively large mat and many extra q-tips. The little empty oil/cleaner bottles are also what I commonly use – they are very portable have handy for a range day. The overall quality is satisfying and the price is reasonable. I have been using them for a year and they have been working well. -Howl Luis

6. PERWIN Universal Gun Cleaning Kit

PERWIN Universal Gun Cleaning Kit

Highlight: Comes with everything you need to clean multiple gun types, making it perfect for any shooter.

Constructive Review: Solid case, easily identifiable tools, and I like the brass features to reduce the possibility of anything breaking. I now have a single case for cleaning everything from my shotguns, and rifles to pistols. Good value for the money. -Schwab

Trending Review: Convenient kit with everything you need. All of the brushes and swabs work well, the pieces seem sturdy, and the screw ends are long enough to inspire confidence that they won’t snap. Very full kit for the price. Only downside would be the little plastic containers. No way I’m trusting those lids to not leak when this case is oriented various directions. I’ll keep the lubricating oil and cleaning solvent in their original containers, but the rest of the kit is great. -James

Reassuring Review: A NICE SELECTION OF CLEANING PARTS. I USED THIS KIT TO CLEAN THE BREACH OF MY ABRAMS M1911 REVOLVER PISTOL.
THE INCLUDED SWAB SET WORKED GREAT FOR MOPPING LIBERAL TEARS OFF THE END OF MY MUZZLE.
ALSO, NO SEALS OR OTTERS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS SET. I FIND THIS IMPORTANT AND SINCE I DO, YOU SHOULD TOO.
USE THIS SET TO KEEP YOUR GAT SHINEY, LUBED, AND OPERATING SMOOTH.

I AM HAPPY, YOU WILL BE HAPPY TOO. BECAUSE I AM TELLING YOU TO. -Sololucky

7. iunio Gun Cleaning Kit

iunio Gun Cleaning Kit

Highlight: — Compact, all-in-one set with durable tools designed for quick and easy firearm maintenance.

Constructive Review: First impression great product. I was on the fence about purchasing this without being able to touch it first. I was apprehensive about the cleaning rod’s durability but after I bought the kit and opened it up the first thing I saw was the cleaning mat and boom right there on the front after Iunio thanked me for my purchase they tell you that if you have any issue at all to contact them via Amazon message or send them a direct message to their customer service support email and they will send you a replacement. I never review products but this one I felt I had to share and let other people know that Iunio stands by their products and that you don’t really get the service that they offer from other companies anymore. I highly recommend this kit to maintain your 2nd amendment rights. -NicciP

Trending Review: This universal gun cleaning kit is incredibly well-organized and versatile. The case keeps everything neatly stored, and the included cleaning mat is a great bonus for protecting your work surface. If you drop it or throw it a little hard some of my parts have gone lose in the case but its not too bad. It has all the tools needed for cleaning shotguns, pistols, and rifles of any caliber. The rods and brushes are durable and fit together seamlessly, making them easy to use. The portability of the kit is also a huge plus for taking it to the range or on trips. The case holds everything in place nice and snug, so as not to fall out when you open the case. I did have an issue where the kit was missing the oil bottles and one of the plastic patch loops had broken off with first use, but I reached out to customer service via email, and they responded almost immediately.

They appologized and said they would send me the two bottles as well as replace the patch loop. Well, not only did I receive the two bottles, but they also sent me a whole set of brass slotted patch loops. The brass is definitely the way to go. This company stands behind their products and has exceptional customer service. They even hooked me up with a very nice free gift!! -crittleNcritta

8. klola Gun Cleaning Kit

klola Gun Cleaning Kit

Highlight: Klola Gun Cleaning Kit offers a complete, easy-to-use set with durable brushes and rods perfect for quick, thorough firearm maintenance.

Constructive Review: I have “real” gun cleaning tools (somewhere), but I was looking for a small, complete, PORTABLE kit, and was not having any luck. I finally bought 2 different kits and combined them, but it really was not ideal, as several small parts rattled around loose.

Then I found this one. It had jags and brushes and mops and an oil bottle, so could be just what I was looking for.

The case is indeed perfect. The small parts are securely held in LABELED slots, and the other side has a zippered mesh covering so the stuff in there stays in there. Plenty of room to “enhance” the kit with bits from the other two kits.

Some people complain about the oil bottle. I don’t care; I replaced it with the supplied oil and solvent bottles from another kit, (Neverdry, entirely adequate once enhanced, except things rattled around loose). Some people complain about parts breaking or “not fitting”. We’ll see, if this is a problem, I’ll be annoyed, but the parts should be easy to replace (I’ve still got the remains of the other two kits) and the case is the “most important” part for this particular project.

And then there are the people who whine that 9mm is not included. News flash: 9mm and .38/.357 are
the SAME SIZE. If you have (the right sized) one of those, you have both of them. If the part you have does not fit, you don’t have the right sized part.

If you are looking for your “one and only” or “primary” cleaning kit, this one probably won’t do. If you are looking for a secondary PORTABLE kit for the most common handgun calibers, you can probably make this one be just what you want. -John Hertig

Trending Review: First, to address a lot of the 1 star reviews that specifically mention this not having jags, brushes, etc., in 9mm: .38cal is 9mm! They are the same. You can use the .38cal items perfectly well in .380acp, .38spl, .357mag, and 9mm. They’re not the same cartridge, but that’s irrelevant for the purposes of cleaning the bore. Seriously, this is really simple Firearms 101 stuff, so it’s concerning that so many people who are buying/using this item don’t seem to understand a very basic fact about their firearms and are more than willing to look like complete fools in their reviews. LEARN ABOUT YOUR WEAPONS, FOLKS!

Maybe try googling first if you’re unsure or confused. Or, even better, you could read the full ad and description of the item you’re buying. It might just say something like “.357 Cal., .38 Cal. and 9mm are essentially the same size”. I dunno, worth a shot.

Anyway, with that out of the way, the kit is very well constructed and easy to use, store, and transport. I think it’s well-worth the money. I haven’t seen any issues with bad brushes or thin/weak cleaning rods. Maybe I got lucky, but everything in my kit seems robust and well constructed. -Piratetk

Reassuring Review: I had bought this kit for my first gun (Gov. 1911) and honestly, you have everything you need to scrape, brush, and clean away all the gun powder build up on your firearm. The tools held up nicely and by mistake I had broke one of the brass bristle brushes for the barrel (user error, not quality issue) and the seller was more than happy to provide a replacement for the item. They were fast in response (next business day) as well as the delivery of the item. I highly recommend this to anyone who has a handgun that needs some cleaning after the range. Also makes a great gift! -Patrick Martinez

9. BOOSTEADY Universal Handgun Cleaning Kit

BOOSTEADY Universal Handgun Cleaning Kit

Highlight: All-in-one compact kit designed for easy, mess-free handgun cleaning anywhere you go.

Constructive Review: The BOOSTEADY Universal Handgun Cleaning Kit is a great addition to my firearm maintenance routine. The bronze bore brushes are durable and effective at removing residue, while the brass jag adapter ensures a secure fit for cleaning patches. The kit works perfectly for my .22, 9mm, and .45 caliber pistols, making it a versatile and convenient option. Everything is well-made and fits securely without any issues. Great quality at an affordable price—highly recommend for any handgun owner! Jack

Trending Review: Just finished cleaning one of my BERSA TPR9 using the brushes, patches, and the brass eye adapter the patches goes into, along with some CLP, and Lucas oil, and this kit did not fail. i like this kit and the case it comes with because it looks to be made of strong materials unlike the plastic case kits in which the case will fail soon because they have no strong hinge to the case. -Patrick

Reassuring Review: Folks, this will clean a 9mm, you just need to know how to use it. Keep trying and trying, one day you’ll figure it out. As for the kit, yes, it is a little on the cheap side, yes, it has some issues, but for the most part, this works well and in a pinch. Toss this in the back pack and forget it until you need it. I do not recommend this kit for a cleaning bench or daily use, it will not work that hard for you. Lastly, no oil because it says so on the page. Go buy some proper break free / CLP, fill the bottles and off ya go. For the price, there is NO WAY they are sending you cleaning fluid. -Blaydese

10. Allen Company Ruger Compact Handgun Cleaning Kit

Allen Company Ruger Compact Handgun Cleaning Kit

Highlight: Compact and convenient, this kit is perfect for quick, on-the-go handgun cleaning with all the essentials included.

Constructive Review: This product is very well made. From the case to the accessories, this seems like a well rounded product. I’ve gotten this for a gift for my friend who got her first gun (Glock 19, 9mm) and figured this would suit her needs. The brass rods are milled from a single piece of brass, and the handle seems firmly affixed. I am not so sure about the swiveling handle from the rod, but I suppose this isn’t an issue if you’re not attaching additional rods (which may unscrew in the barrel).

The cotton swab heads seem fairly made, and don’t have as much lint as many others I’ve purchased in the past. The case is very well made, but the tension latches seem to be very tight. It seems as though someone with a not so firm grip may have a small difficulty in opening the case. For someone with many guns, many calibers – this may be a poor choice. If this kit will fit a few pistol calibers you may have: I would recommend this product. I suppose if you had many guns, this would also be a nice kit if you are the type to clean your guns at the range. -Matthew R. Lilly

Trending Review: I hope I never have to fire my handgun. Imagining a scenario where it becomes necessary to put a round in the chamber is a scary thought.
The scary thoughts would be made worse if I was not confident it will be clean and work perfectly if need be. A female judge (of all people) taught me this. I didn’t argue.
From this perspective, this low priced cleaning kit is priceless, rust resistant. The thing I would add to make this a one stop transaction would be gun oil. I’ll probably use my barber’s clipping shear oil and soak the stack of cleaning patches. Rust is not a gunslinger’s friend. -Pat Barber

Reassuring Review: I love how nice and neat everything is inside of the case.. the case is the main reason i purchased this kit and also for all the goodies of course, everything seems to work like its intended. I havent had any problems with the threads or using the different tools. Im sure there better quality things out there but do they come in a nice fancy case??? Probably not… maybe they do.. im not sure to be honest but i own a ruger so i felt this kit was only necessary lol in conclusion this item makes a great gift for any new gun owner or even an experienced gun buff, everything works well and how it should, for the price i think its well worth it! -stephen g.
