1. Seneca Big Bore 44 909 Light Hunter PCP Air Rifle

Seneca Big Bore 44 909 Light Hunter PCP Air Rifle

Highlight: This high-powered PCP air rifle has dual air chambers with a total capacity of 500 cc, a fixed front sight, and an adjustable and removable rear sight.

Constructive Review: Very accurate to 50 yards haven’t shot past that yet. I killed a doe last night with the 200-gr air Venturi .45 hollow point. The deer went 25 yards and piled up. The gun is extremely accurate but it is loud to loud to shoot around the house. -Charles 81

Trending Review: Sam Yang it’s a precharge pneumatic rifle that uses air pressurized i use my scuba tank to fill the rifle to 206 bars or 3000 psi the rifle comes with open sights if you don’t have enough money to buy a scope.

I have 3 PCP rifles but this is my first Sam Yang rifle and the quality is excellent the metal the wood stock everything is very well made the rifle is very very loud you can’t Use it in your backyard if you have close neighbors I decide to get a muzzle brake to quite down the loudness.

I’m very happy and I do recommend you SamYang 909 45 caliber light hunter you have about 8 to 10 shots in high power using a round ball or the 200-grain hollow point Air venturi pellets you can get from Amazon very accurate to 100 yards great power with this rifle excellent shot counts very pleased with my purchase. -Vegas052

Reassuring Review: I have had several rifles, there are others more powerful, and there are others lighter, with more range of fire, but this rifle is balanced, it has everything,

I like it, it has nothing to envy others, it is not the best in appearance in some aspects, but not the worst, which as a whole is superior to the vast majority. ahh, and the aesthetics is unmatched. I recommend it and if there were 6 stars, I would give them. -ivan j alonso

2. Hatsan Blitz PCP Air Rifle

Hatsan Blitz PCP Air Rifle

Highlight: A fully automatic PCP option that can drop raccoons quickly with rapid follow-up shots.

Constructive Review: After reading all the reviews about the blitz my desire to own one finally exceeded my trepidation and I pulled the trigger (pun intended) I ordered the 30 cal and when it arrived I made sure to clean and lube it very carefully as well as working the charge handle in with about a thousand full action travel manual engagements as is my personal preference on way to make smooth like butter.

The bottom line is mine does not jam for whatever reason and that makes me extremely happy because without the jamming issues, this is an amazing rifle. I can’t believe how fast it runs a mag through. Like three seconds! Home defense? Idk who can walk through absorbing 30 30 cal rounds in 3 seconds at 700fps but if they can, a twelve gauge ain’t stopping them either. -Chad

Trending Review: this gun is awesome! love plinking around like anything you take care of it and it will run and operate like a charm! love the full auto a blast! goes right through pressure-treated 2×4, especially using the polymer.

Tips! Grouping of 1 and 1.5 inches @ 100 yards! loved it so much and bought another one so now I have 2 hatsan blitz. -kirk tilton

Reassuring Review: I bought this a few weeks ago, along with a hand pump to fill it. The rifle came with the air cylinder empty. I tried pumping it up with my hand pump, but the air just hissed out of it. Thought it was defective, but upon doing research(not from the manufacturer), I found out that you have to give it a high blast of air to seat the valve on the tank.

I bought another little air cylinder that I filled up with the pump and used to initially blast it, making the valve seat properly. Once that was done, I could fill it with the hand pump.
Only have shot it a few times, but seems to be working well, and the full auto is amazing. This is the .30 cal one. -Mark W. Roy-Brooks

3. Benjamin Marauder Synthetic Stock PCP-Powered Air Rifle

Benjamin Marauder Synthetic Stock PCP Powered Air Rifle 1

Highlight: A classic and affordable PCP air rifle perfect for raccoon hunting.

Constructive Review: I’ve had this gun now for about four years, and I must say I am extremely impressed with its accuracy. After fitting it with a scope and zeroing it in with some target practice, I can easily hit a squirrel in the head from 30 yards. I find it is most accurate between 1,500 to 2,000 psi. The Benjamin .25 cal ammo pairs super well and is extremely accurate. The gun is well-balanced and the stock is comfortable. The trigger pressure is perfect and I love the double trigger safety. The black finish is nice and the overall build quality is very good.

My only complaints, and they are minor are:
1. It’s almost too powerful for squirrel hunting. The pellets frequently go through and through.
2. It takes quite a workout to pump it up to 2,000 psi. I know there are electric pumps out there, but they are expensive.
3. The magazine is a little finicky. I rarely get all 8 shots as the spring is too weak to load the last round.

All in all, I highly recommend this rifle. -Steven J. Valenta

Trending Review: Well this rifle has exceeded my expectations. I’m someone who has been shooting break-barrel airguns for years and years. I target shoot just to sight in scopes and all my real shots are for pest elimination. I had a new hammer scope on hand I put it on this rifle loaded it with Crosman 19g heavy dome pellets and went online to learn how to tune this rifle…there are 3 adjustments..the air valve..the hammer spring..the striker…

I learned in a couple of hours of research and had my rifle tuned in about 1 hour with no problems..then I started accuracy/scope adjustment and had it shooting a hole in the hole at 25 yards in minutes.. anything I shoot at has absolutely no chance. I’m hitting everything/every shot.. an incredible rifle..I am so pleased with it that I just can’t tell you..best rifle I ever purchased..just keep in mind you need to have a compressor paired with this rifle to enjoy ownership and fill it in 30 seconds every 25/30 shots because a hand pump isn’t going to cut it..it’s worth it..if you want to hit everything you shoot at..buy this. -Mike G

Reassuring Review: I did a lot of research before purchasing this air rifle. I owned several break actions. I must say that this rifle exceeded my expectations. Extremely accurate & quiet. I put a $90 3x9x40 scope on it & a $40 Bipod.

Took about 4 shots to sight it in. Shoots a quarter-size pattern at 40 yards. With my break action, I would usually hit 1 squirrel for every 10 shots. Now it’s more like hitting 15 out of 16 shots. My longest shot so far has been about 55 yds. I have a squirrel infestation in my yard. In 14 days I killed 36 squirrels.
Best money you will spend to have so much fun. -Johnny

4. Hatsan BullBoss PCP Air Rifle

Hatsan BullBoss PCP Air Rifle

Highlight: A great balance between power and affordability.

Constructive Review: What can I say I love this Bullboss. I am thoroughly impressed by how accurate it is, watched some reviews on YouTube and they don’t seem to be able to achieve the accuracy I’m getting. I’m shooting 34-grain JSB pellets at 40 yards and as long as I do my part it’ll shoot them well into a dime-size group.

For being my first PCP air rifle I feel like I made the right choice to get into the sport. Out of the box, it is very quiet, I added a Doonyfl Sumo moderator just to quiet it more. All you hear out of the air rifle now is the hammer hitting, the pellet hitting the target is so much louder than the air rifle shooting. The rifle is like the JSB Exact King Heavy Diabolo 33.95 gr. pellets as you can see in the 5-shot group at 48 yards. -Emery Bachelder

Trending Review: This is my first PCP air rifle, I added a cheap scope that works great the gun doesn’t kick so it holds its zero. .25 caliber. Shoots through two pieces of 2-inch foam insulation and a half-inch piece of plywood and my wall.

Working on a better backstop. Bought a backstop that was rated up to 22 caliber and it shoots through it as well, wouldn’t want to be at the wrong end of it. Takes a lot of pumps to go from 100 bar to 200 bar with a cheap hand pump but I can get 50 shots and would like to try the better pump. I am very unhappy with the hatsan sling, the clip came loose and I dropped the gun the second day I had it.

Luckily my reflexes caught the gun before it took a bad fall but I did drop it if you’re going to buy this gun get a better sling. Don’t have a chronograph to measure the feet per second but seems very powerful. The trigger is a little tricky to adjust so be careful. -Joe

Reassuring Review: Haha. Too much good to say. It’s heavy when you’re walking around with it strapped over ya but as soon as you shoulder it, you won’t feel that weight anymore.

It’s a quiet cannon that keeps 9 rounds in a group under 1″ and then goes through the one-inch pine board that holds the target at 45 yards. 30 yards after that, I found a hole in the aluminum siding of my shed. Buy it!!! -Tim B

5. Umarex Gauntlet 2 PCP Pellet Gun Air Rifle

Umarex Gauntlet 2 PCP Pellet Gun Air Rifle

Highlight: A solid PCP option with excellent accuracy at a lower price.

Constructive Review: What a rifle! Very accurate. Fantastic power. Mine’s in 30 cal.
It is BIG.
It is heavy
It is accurate
It is powerful
Haven’t tried slugs yet, but just ordered a half dozen different ones to try.
Yes. It shoots great to 100 yards.
No so far it’s not shooting sub 1 moa at 100 yards, but haven’t tuned it yet for any specific projectile. Just cleaned the barrel and shot what I had for pellets.
Get a good scope. I am using a Monstrum G3 5-25X50 on adjustable rings. Can hit a dime at 50 yards. Can’t wait to hunt with it.
Wrapped the air tube with a fake carbon fiber wrap and added a stick on felt in the stock between the tube and stock, stuck to the stock. This really stiffened the stock up for my bipod. -Jack

Trending Review: So when I first got this air gun I had tried to air it up and there was air leaking out of the barrel and I couldn’t figure it out but I found out that if you un screw the bottle rom the gun and put about 150psi – 250psi in it and then quickly screw it back on that it fixes the problem where air is leaking from the barrel but I will say I was using a hand pump so that might have something to do with it but I figured I would just warn anyone who is going to buy this with the intention of using a pump to fill the gun for the first time to watch out for this problem other than that the gun works perfectly. -Kinleynewsom

Reassuring Review: I bought this after doing a lot of research about PCP air rifles. I wanted to upgrade from my .22 cal break barrel air rifle to something that would allow me to hunt larger games. I found the SL30 was well-rated and was a great price compared to the cost of getting into other PCP rifles of the same caliber (bullet size and quality).

I got this and the only thing I did before going to shoot it, was to adjust the trigger to my liking. There are tons of YouTube videos out there to show mods for this rifle but honestly, it’s great right out of the box. I took it to the range with several different types of slugs and pellets to see which one it liked (If you didn’t know, each gun can/will like different brands and weights) and found that I could easily shoot 1/2″ groups at 50 yards with this thing.

I sighted it in at 50 and pushed back my targets to 100 yards. After I found the drop, I was shooting 12ga shotguns shells off a 2×4 nearly every single shot. This thing is incredible!! You won’t be disappointed if you choose to go with this air rifle. -Jeff

6. Air Venturi Avenger Caliber Regulated PCP Air Rifle

best air rifles to hunt raccoons
Version 1.0.0

Highlight: The Avenger air rifle is lightweight, highly adjustable, and extremely capable, all at an affordable price. This high-powered PCP rifle weighs about 6 lbs., has a fully shrouded barrel, and has either a synthetic or wooden stock.

Constructive Review: My first PCP rifle and it’s a solid value for the money. Impressively powerful (mine is a .22) and consistent in accuracy as well. The Chipmunk Kingdom has a new sheriff in town.

The only thing I dislike is the magazines, they are a very budget design and a few of mine don’t cycle consistently I’ve mashed some of the teeth in the mags when they have cycled halfway and the bolt chewed them up.

For the power level, it’s fairly loud, but with a DonnyFL Sumo, it makes a nice combo and quiets it down quite a lot. -Kingsqueak

Trending Review: The price-to-quality ratio is amazing!

I got the .25 cal variant.

It has both tank and shot regulators, a quick fill nozzle, shoots flat and consistently from 30-150 ft (all that was tested), and is very quiet. Expect 30+ shots per tank when filled to 4000 psi.

Very happy with the purchase so far. -jake

Reassuring Review: I can find no issues that are negative on the Air Venturi Avenger .25 cal. The good things are regulated pressure, high pressures, VERY accurate, and very well made.

Handles well and is easy to shoulder and shoot. The main thing is accuracy followed closely by excellent craftsmanship for a modest sum.

It is consistent as a fine airgun should be but at a lot less money. Some airguns are picky on certain pellets. The Avenger does well With JSB Diablo and JSB Hades as well as JTS Dead Center. Seems to handle various grains rather well So far I have not found any pellets it does not work well with. -Dr. Dave. Payson, Utah

7. Gamo Swarm Magnum 10X GEN3i .22 Caliber Air Rifle

best air rifles to hunt raccoons

Highlight: Quick-Shot technology enables you to shoot up to ten pellets without reloading. Single cocking system.

Constructive Review: So just a few minutes ago, confirmed, 2500 pellets out of this bad boy. I did not buy this air rifle through Amazon but I need to put it out, this air rifle is amazing. The Gamo 10x swarm magnum .22 gen2. After 2.5k pellets it is still working and performing great. It’s no problem hitting a nickel group at 50.

I primarily use the cheap Crosman premier hollow points, but the Gamo Red fires are a great load as well. I feel the crosmans don’t catch the wind as much. The picture is my air rifle, only slightly modded as Gamos are not easily modded, but what you can see on top is a vortex crossfire 2, a very good option for this rifle as the hash marks are very easy to coordinate.

It’s no side but it’s handy. if you are in the market for a great .22 air rifle, look no further. You found a winner! It’s just great. Afterthought: I use this rifle for the obvious, plinking, but also rabbits and squirrels and it does its job very well. Heads up if you going for squirrel pelts use the crosman “piranha” loads. They leave a little hole but just explode after entry. Thanks for reading. If this was helpful please hit the button 🙂 -ZacR

Trending Review: Lots to like, but lots to learn with this airgun. First, the barrel needs a couple of hundred shots to be broken in properly. The scope isn’t particularly bright, but serviceable up to at least 25 yards.

The cooking effort may be too much for some people; I’m well over 70 years old and have no trouble whatsoever putting 60 or 80 shots downrange, but my teenage neighbors couldn’t cock it once. (I do ask them to help with mobile phones, though.) Accuracy depends on distance and ammo choice. Shoot everything you can find at various distances, and keep records.

I can’t stress this enough; buy lots of ammo put in your range time, and keep records! I use this airgun for pest control, but if I can’t make a humane kill, I don’t take the shot. At 25 yards I have to be able to hit a quarter every time, and the 10X GEN3i will do it, with power to spare. This airgun has significant recoil, probably more than a .22lr, but isn’t uncomfortable for anyone.

When it arrived, there were some uncomfortable edges on the stock left over from molding, but easily taken care of with a pocket knife. Also, the clip that holds the magazine in was partially broken. The rifle still worked, but I called Gamo and they put one in the mail the same day, at no charge. Thank you, Gamo. I’m happy with this product and would buy the same thing if something happened to this one. -Jay

Reassuring Review: Amazing air rifle and great customer service. Fast and they make things simple and easy. I’m very impressed with Amazon and Gamo USA. This air rifle is no joke. It’s a beast. I love it and am so very happy I bought this air rifle. It’s worth every penny.

I bought this in .22cal. It packs one hell of a punch. This is not for a weak person. I can put 5 rounds in a group the size of a dime at 49 to 50 yards. I just received it and it is still breaking in. I haven’t shot any further than that yet. I will be shooting it further once it finishes settling in. It’s very impressive. Gamo USA is on their game with this air rifle. I now want one in .25cal. -Martin
